To appreciate the idea. To have more fun than you can shake a tentacle at. I love the idea of Giles as Retief. I'd like to see Snyder as Magnan, because he did have some redeeming moments. And forget miniature golf, the Mayor could suggest three words to make Faith's troubles go away...Groaci nose flutes.

Wonderful little tale. I am so sorry you won't be doing more as there are darn few good Joyce/Giles/Helloween stories out there. And I must say that both Samantha and Jame Retief were two of my favorite characters while growing up. I think Elizabeth Montgomery helped me get through puberty and Jame was one of my favorite SF swashbucklers. Lol!

I'll admit, that after the summary, I was expecting the Dorsai, or John Christian Falkenberg... Of course I should have followed the Laumer thread and picked up Retief!!!!

Oooohhhh, what chaos tonight! Samantha is going to be a minor factor - Retief is *SOOOO* going to make life scary!!!However, there won't be any ... fun on the hood of a police car - Samantha's married, and Retief would *NOT* do that!
