Review of chapter "Chapter One" from RevDorothyL
So glad to see a cross with Diane Duane's "Young Wizards" series -- and I like the way you worked it into Xander's history.
Comments from author:
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm enjoying the challenge of blending these two diverse fandoms together... Poor Xander, Carl and Tom have a long, and very bumpy road ahead of them. It's still slow going on this series as the muses are being a bit noisier about other ones. *smirks*

Dude, you rock!

I love all your stories, but have the bad habit of not reviewing very often, so given that this ficlet has one of my favorite childhood books as the cross, I just really had to review. You've blended the two worlds nicely and the Young Wizards series is a rare choice for anyone to use as a crossover; makes it extra nice.

I think this would be very interesting to continue, just to see how Xander would react to the Wizardry that they practice. Whether or not he becomes a Wizard like they are (and I can see arguments either way) I just have an image of him staring at the Lone Power (or what remains of it depending on where in the book series you place it) and laughing. Would you have him be older or the same age as Kit or Nita? Pair him with Ronan (which would be amusing)? I hope you do plan to continue when you've got the time and I'm looking forward to see the rest of your fics this month.

Glad you enjoyed it so far. Yeah I could see him laughing at the Lone Power, after all look at what else he's had to face. I'm thinking a bit bit older than Kit and Nita, so he could be like a 'big brother' figure to them.

The rest of them are just as varied and mixed of a bag, including a few that are inspired by some of the wonderful manips TexasAries did . Smallville anyone? *smirks and cackles*

Yeah a lot of these shorter ones are ones that I'll eventually work into longer stories.

Plus can't you just see The First, as being the one who corrupted The Lone Power? *wanders off whistling innocently*

Nice! This is the first Young Wizards cross-over I've seen here...
Comments from author:
Well it's been nibbling at me for a while and I figured the fic a day challenge is the perfect time to try it out . Plus it was a challenge that was issued so double points .

I'm still working on ideas for when Xander finds his copy of the Manual, as well as working it into cannon events with a small twist here and there. Could definitely see him as an Advisory or Senior for Sunnydale specifically after season 4 or 5. Would be interesting how to thread it with The First Evil and company

First of all, yippee for a 'Young Wizards' crossover. I still remember the first time I read 'So you Want...' & wish that the series was better known. After all, it predated those other wizards.

Poor Carl--to be forced to betray so much. What the Pig reveals isn't really much comfort.

Nicely done. I do hope you write the longer story someday. And now I want to go re-read the series.

*smiles and bows* I'm glad you liked it. I put it together with a few varied ideas and it just clicked. Besides which Carl did share that there is at least 'one higher price than a life price that can be asked' in the one Tom and Carl while not officially, canonly a 'couple' scream it in so many senses. It's one of those, you see it but it's not 'officially' stated or claimed.

Yep they are a wonderful series of novels. I do hope to eventually flesh it out to a full, lengthy story, or maybe a series of loosely connected ficlets of greater length.
