Great stuff! I'm the same age as Giles - 4 months older than ASH, to be exact - and Dan Dare was my childhood hero too. Well, second place hero behind Storm Nelson.

I fall a year or two behind (I missed Eagle, but adored L&L and the Trigan Empire ...) But my other half, like you is a match in age and a a great Dare fan. I figured that Giles' aborted ambition to be a fighter pilot probably stemmed from reading the Eagle as a boy (probably secretly, because his father would have seriously disapproved!)

I was just reading a Dan Dare comic book, I mean "graphic novel", last week in the library I was working in. Please continue your story as I don't think I've read many stories where Giles gets transmogrified and this could lead to much jocularity and Giles bashing. Of course Dan could just bash back. And Janna just might be able to kick Angelus' butt and not die! Lol!
