I don't really like stories where historical females were slayers. its not that I don't think its cool, its just that if feels like that implies that girls can't do whatever awesome thing it is they did without superpowers. I'm sure that not what you meant but it sort of feels that way to me.

I'm sorry it feels that way to you. As Mulan is a fictional character, especially since this is based on the Disney movie, I can assure you that that was not my intent. Instead, it's just meant to be a bit of 'what if?' ;)
