Review:
Ugh! Dropping this story from tracking. All this build-up just to turn into another "magic is bad and Willow shouldn't be using it" fic. Doubtless Willow will give it up and thus be "redeemed" in the eyes of the god-figure of Aslan. Don't need to stick around to read more when the ending is painfully obvious.

I prefer stories over sermons. Next.
Comments from author:
Hey,
Sorry that the fic disappointed you, but I feel the need to defend it just a bit. Willow will not 'give up' magic in this story-this is pre-Buffy Willow and she hasn't been using it at this point. And Aslan sees the potential for great good or bad in Willow, which if you remember from canon Willow does have (bad in Darth Willow stages, good in activating all the Slayers stage). What Aslan is talking about now is how Jadis sees the potential in Willow-the ability for magic and the possibility of getting consumed by it (which she does-later on in canon). Willow doesn't need redemption in this story because she hasn't done anything yet. This is an AU story, and the events of BTVS won't go down the same because of Willow's romp through Narnia. It's an experiment to see how Willow would develop from the innocent Willow of pre-Buffy now that she's been through all this trauma with the White Witch-and how all those changes will carry onto Sunnydale.

I wasn't trying for a sermon. I personally like Witchy Willow, and have a lot of stories that embrace Willow's witchyness. But season one was when Willow became my favourite character and I want to write a fic about that Willow before Buffy came to town. Sorry if you think that it's preachy, because that wasn't what I was going for.

Hopefully you'll come back to the story one day.

Regards,
Eena

This story makes me miss innocent!Willow so much. You write her so perfectly ^_^
Comments from author:
Thanks! I miss Season 1 Willow as well, and since MuchMusic has started replaying all seven seasons of Buffy here in Canada, I'm reminded of just how much I missed her. Gave me some inspiration to get this story out and finished with (hopefully in the next month or so).

YAY! An update for the first time in God-Knows-How-Long! Please, please, PLEASE continue this, as I am very much enthralled with the story.

"I prefer to stand." HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That was EPIC!

Next chapter: Training, the Witch's deal, and possibly Aslan's sacrifice...
Comments from author:
Glad people are liking that line. It was my favourite part to write. And as for the next chapter . . . you're just going to have to wait and see.

Kidding! I'm working on it as we speak. Hopefully it will be up soon.

Thanks for the review,
Eena

Review of chapter "Deep Magic" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
While I can't help but wonder what consequences Willow promising not to practise magic will have on things- if nothing else, it might make re-cursing Angel a BIT difficult-, I certainly can't fault the meeting between her and Aslan here; all that remains is to see how she interacts with the rest of the Pevensives (Plus, of course, the question of what role she'll play in Narnia if she sticks around after the coronation; I was initially inclined to think she'd be the court sorceress or something- taking lessons in 'purer' magic from Aslan and the Narnians, obviously-, but with Aslan's 'ultimatum' taken into account that looks like it's not an option).

In any case, hope the next chapter's uploaded sooner than this one was; this story continues to intrigue...
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. Willow's promise to abstain from magic will most certainly have an effect on all things Buffy, but since this is AU . . . who knows where things will go?

Also, I had considered the magic thing with Willow, even in this world. But Willow only really got into magic through her interactions with Miss Calendar, a friendly techno-pagan, and possibly a bit through Amy (though that is never mentioned on screen at the time of Willow's forays into magic). Willow's experience with witches aren't necessarily too great so far (and get worse when she gets back to Sunnydale and has to deal with Catherine the Great) so she doesn't have the whole 'maybe maybe can be used in a good way' perception yet. And also, the Pevensies rule Narnia for fifteen years without magic, and I didn't want to turn Willow into some Willow-Sue awesome witch who would be responsible for keeping the Golden Age of Narnia going. The Pevensies are still the rulers and they're going to stay that way.

I'm working on the next chapter, and hopefully that will be up soon.

Thanks,
Eena

Review:
Outstanding chapter! I'm super happy/relieved that Willow and Edmund are finally saved from the White Witch and that Willow was healed too, the poor thing was in and still is in so much pain. *hugs*

So, I guessed right and the potential the White Witch saw in Willow was magic, and very interesting that Aslan sees it too, and not just magic, but 'soul-consuming power' in her future that could go 'good' or 'bad'. Hmmm, very interesting indeed. Also very intriguing were Aslan's 'options' for Willow, that she could be sent back with no memory of her time there, or stay for the rest of her days while promising/swearing an oath to never do any magic... I wonder how her choice is going to effect her future?

Anyhoo, this was wonderfully written as always and I can't wait to read more, especially for the battle and the first meeting between Willow and Edmund's siblings. Thanks so much for updating!!
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. I'm glad you're still liking this one. Aslan's options (and the reason why there were only two of them) become more obvious as time goes on. Don't forget, Aslan has seen how this thing turns out, so there's a method to his madness.

Review:
ouch, poor willow. i hope they both kick the queen's ass when they have the chance

willow's very in character- i'm glad you had her meet Edmund first rather than the other children

the edmund/willow friendship thing is so cute.

one crit is that a couple of the paragraphs could be a bit smaller

this story's really growing on me, love it. i'll be reading the next chapter when it comes out
Comments from author:
Thanks for the feedback. I'm getting the same thing from a lot of people, about the paragraphs being shorter-I'll do my best.

Glad you're enjoying.
