Lovely story to which I can relate all too easily, unfortunately. I'm glad Faith came in and pulled Buffy out of her maudlin reminiscing. Buffy's attitude has aged her as much as time and injury and it's good that she got that little boost to hopefully get her moving and involved in life again.
Edited for reply: LOL! You're more than welcome to do so and change the wording however you like.

Thank-you, I really wish I could use your review as a summary!
I always thought Those Were The Days was one of the most melancholy songs ever written. And I thought your story was melancholy right up to the end. Depend on Faith to kick-start Buffy again. Always leave the audience with a little hope. Lol!

Old Russian gipsy song I'm told.
Yes, always try to finish on an up beat note, just like the song.
Apart when she was trying to kill people, I always thought Faith had a better handle on the entire slayer thing.

Poignant, good piece of writing, a couple of misplaced words (where they word sounds similar to the one you wanted but is not the same). I liked it overall.

Homophones I think they're called, damn pesky things! They're like lice you never seem to get rid of all of them. Today I wrote stairs instead of stares!
Glad you enjoyed.

Very maudlin fic. But it was nice that although Buffy was old, she was still able to take care of the vamp - even if it was without her usual quips. Shows that she grew at least a little wiser; knowing that it was better just to stake the vamp rather than risk it winning in a fight. And I'm glad that she had at least Faith to visit with. Loved the bit about Giles dying of natural causes. Now if that can be said of the Scoobies and the Chosen Two.

Its a fic that has been in my mind for ages, and I just happened to be in the frame of mind to write it.
thanks for reviewing.
