How could Buffy possibly have figured out Batman's identity? Was she able to follow the guy to the batcave or something? How would Buffy even know to compare Bruce Wayne and Batman? The two are completely unrelated in the point of view of a stranger. Plus, I doubt a struggling teenage waitress alone in the city would have gotten close enough to moving in the same circles as a super-high class guy like Bruce Wayne to ever find out what to look for, as your story tries to say. And then there's the matter of her still being distraught over finally killing Angel, and running away to a different, unfamiliar city. And let's not forget the fact that her success in Sunnydale largely has to do with having Giles, and Willow (and Xander too, I guess) to do the research for her. She doesn't exactly have the most organized mind in the first place.
Despite all that, you're trying to tell us that she figured out Batman's secret identity? I don't buy it. It's not even that I'm ragging on Buffy nor is it my stubborn will not to buy it. It's just that your story makes no sense with that.
And another thing. How could Buffy even steal the Batmobile? Yes, I can imagine her bypassing Batman's security features, simply by powering through it or using her fast reflexes to avoid them. But how did she get it to run? Batman wouldn't leave the keys in the car. Do you expect us to believe she knows how to hotwire a car, too? Especially when the Batmobile is custom-made and there's no other car with wiring like it has?
I get that the story is supposed to be amusing. But honestly, it turned out more annoying than anything else.
Comments from author:
Bruce is on TV, so she can watch his mannerisms there to compare them to Batman's, who would be in the parts of town that Buffy lives in. Buffy let the others do the research for her because she could; without them to lean on, I think she could manage.
As far as being able to figure out who he is, all she has to do is overhear both Batman and Bruce call for Alfred. It isn't a real common first name - especially without shortening it to Al or Fred. The car...okay, you got me; I have no clue how she was able to steal it. Maybe Batman left the keys in the visor and all she had to do was pry the door off. If you want to complain, complain to the person who wrote the challenge since they didn't offer any warnings about how impossible it is to steal the Batmobile...despite the fact it was tampered with in one of the movies.
Glad you liked it. Saw the challenge and just had to do it.

Yawn! Another Buffy-is-better-than-anyone-she-meets tale. I'll pass on it.

It's your right. Didn't see it that way personally. More like she's his equal.

Hilarious! I liked Batman's reaction to vamps being real...& Buffy's snark when he didn't believe her. Also...loved the way she straight-forwardly told him his real identity. Seriously, I was chuckling all through this. Great one-shot!

Good, then I was right in marking it 'Comedy'. I'm never sure what the threshold is for those markings. But he was smart enough to listen to her when it came to staking them, so he's not too far gone. Maybe he could learn from her how she knew so he can better hid his identity in the future.

Day-yum that was funny! I loved it! Especially Batman's gob-smacked reaction to Buffy truly knowing who he was. Great job (like I expected anything less!).

Great one shot. I'd love to read more. It's much more like how Batman is supposed to be, a regular person, than the unbeatable know-it-all he has become in recent years. I think it would be great to have some other encounters between them.
Michael Keaton is a great Batman. How about Buffy and the Joker?
Comments from author:
Ohh, it was meant to be a oneshot, but a bunny has sprung to mind for a follow-up. I assume you mean the Jack Nicholson Joker, right? He was funner.

That was priceless. Of course, wouldn't have Buffy crashed or at least got the Batmobile dented with her special driving?
Great story.
Comments from author:
That was the whole reason she stole it; so she could crash through the side of the stone house! Any other car would be totaled. His might have just gotten some scratches or dings.
