I avoided reading this story for about the last two years ... Hank Summers is my least favorite character from 'Buffy' with Dru a close second. This was very good and entertaining as well as realistic in a Buffy sort of way.
Excellent writing and I appreciated that you had no spelling or grammatical errors, at least none that I noticed.
Thanks for sharing!

I loved this story! I really liked how you handled Hank finding out about Buffy being the Slayer. I really loved that Buffy put Anya to work handling the negotiations and made some money out of the whole deal. I could definitely see her giving most of the money to Anne.

Review:
Well, you don't know me, so you don't know I seldom give anyone 10/10 for stories.

This is the first story with a significant Hank component that I've read and liked... Actually, it may be the first one I've managed to make it all the way through. The story was taut. The Anya was lovely, even for the couple of seconds she was there. Really enjoyed Gunn's reaction to Buffy's strength. Dawn's reaction to Wes was fun too. [grin]

All in all, another enthralling, entertaining story.

Peace,

Thanks

Blue

Yeah, I always thought Hank got a bit of short shrift from a lot of the fans, and the producers.

Jajaja
I was laughing pretty hard by the end of this fic. It was so funny. Very good fic. I liked how Hank reacted to the news in this fic.
You know, the only reason this fic got a nine instead of a ten is because it wasn't a BuffyAngel fic. That's what I missed here.
Still, great work.

Hey, very nice!
(and damned good for a 'first' fic)

We don't often see Hank as something other than an ass, so kudos there, although....
Hm. I might have liked to see even more out of him; a chapter or two of befuddlement is fine, but couldn't he have contributed a little more? Maybe not, given that this is a fairly short story. It's a minor dissatisfaction; never mind.

What's up with Lorne? You had that one little line in the Hyperion about him giving Dawn a funny look, and walking away (and, more tellingly, Buffy registering it), and then you never followed up on it.

Buffy--well, her presence here overwhelmed every other character, but it IS a Buffy story, so that's not exactly out of line. I would have expected a little more give and take with Angel, especially given that it's 'his' city, but I suppose the initial involvement of B's father might have put him in a support role at the beginning, and then he saw no reason to push for more input since things were going smooth with only one leader and all.

Nice to see 'Anne' again, and in a guest appearance that made sense.

Oh, and showing the limits of the 'Backstory Spell' covering Dawn's childhood years--I like that. The mind-boggling complexity of a spell that filled in years of her life, in every person who would have conceivably encountered her... that always left me feeling, well, boggled. Having her be the ultimate 'quiet child', to most of them, and a complete non-entity to casual aquantances; that's a nice rationale.

A very good, very readable story.
Thanks.

Thanks for your comments. This was the first piece of fanfic that I ever wrote, that could actually be called a story.

Lorne finds the key too beautiful to look at. He really does feel that he could lose his soul in it, if he isn't careful, plus there's always the danger that Dawn might start humming while he's around.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from purrfus
Review:
Great job with the characterizations. Usually Hank is used as the bad guy so it was kinda nice to see him portrayed as just an idiot.

The growth for Dawn was very well done, and bringing in the skating was fun.
Comments from author:
I don't really see Hank as an idiot. I don't think that it's a coincidence that he decided to go to Spain, and not leave a phone number where he could be reached, at the same time that the monks created Dawn. I blame them for sending him away. They didn't want to risk any custody issues between him and their chosen guardian of their Key.

That was funny. I do like the idea of ransoming demons. I'm sure Anya is a wonderful negotiator.

Lol. Funny end for an interesting story. :-)
There aren't many stories with Hank in them, and most portray him as bad one, I believe. Good to see another point of view for that.

Very nice story. It was nice to read a story where Hank wasn't the total SOB he is usually portrayed in most fanfic. I think you caught all the main characters wonderfully. It was also nice to see Dawn do something besides scream and be captured by the bad guys. I hope the muses hit you up for a sequel someday. Nicely done.

I loved this story. I have a certain fondness for stories where "someon finds out" and find that there aren't enough of them, darn it! Thanks for this. I always thought Hank got a raw deal in most fanfics and you handled him perfectly, making him more of a sympathetic character.

Great little fic. Well plotted and executed, self contained, generally all good.
