I've just found this through the CoA winners and I can't believe that I haven't read it before. Really, cool short fic. I would love to see a few of Xander's adventures with the Doc - written in this kind of style of writing (bits and pieces of the story rather than a full fic style).

Which invasion/calamity had the Doctor just averted back when Xander was little?

Since the Doctor could bring him back to the same time, I vote for him to go. It sounds like he needs some 'him' time to figure out what exactly he needs from the group in order to feel content instead of feeling caged.
