Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from tigerlily
It's like a crime that this only got two reviews. Just burned through all three chapters and thoroughly enjoyed it. Planning to pimp it out to whoever will listen. ;)
Love the poignancy-slash-menace of Mayor Wilkins - liable to take trips down some kind of warped memory lane with little provocation, but then react strongly to things like Faith finding the photo album. You danced the line neatly between making him seem more human and yet keeping the air of oddness that so defined him in the show. I still love the pet-eating lawn and the train set geekery, and now I have a visual for his place to go with it. And your Faith voice is, as always, pitch perfect.
I especially loved the part where she stops herself from swearing in his presence, and then later apologises for not being able to help herself. It reminds me of being around pther parental figures, and shows that he had much more of an effect on her than just enabling her Buffy-hate kick. Witty, smart writing mixed with tangible descriptions; marvelous as always.

Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from Kodachi

I'm looking forward to more of this. I hope I'm not disappointed.

Thank you, Sam, for posting this, I loved it the first time when I read it on your LiveJournal site. Have you thought about putting "All She Can Be" here?
