Personally the way I see it Loki causes a LOT more trouble for them in the marvelverse than he ever does HELP them. He tries to get Thor killed... multiple times.

So the way I see it killing Loki would save them more trouble than it would cause.

Actually, a few other than Thor (and now Buffy) *have* been found worthy to hold Mjolnir. Beta Ray Bill (obscure) and Captain America topping the list...

Wrapped up nice and neat. However, you could write the 'Loki messing with family and getting whacked' epic now ^_^

good story ,a possible argument to a sequel is

"what if the role of Loki as God of Mischief must be covered for someone to maintain the balance, what if his post only can be covered for a descendant of Loki himself, what if One of the Scoobies were of the mischief god bloodline......."

You mention that it may have been hasty and unwise of Buffy to make an enemy of Loki, but it is also classic Buffy behavior. She didn't make him an enemy because i was fun to torment him, or just because she's cruel and spiteful (which she properly isn't) but because she was more worried about saving a friend than keeping some other force (like Loki or Odin) placated. Her goal was to go in and save Thor, and she wasn't terribly worried about the possibility that this would make people unhppy. I think part of her was enjoying the challenge.

This has been a rather enjoyable story, and if you write a sequel, I can only hope that it is as enjoyable as this one.

Good stuff. A little shirtsighted, making and enemy of Loki, but hey.
