I love this story, and only just realized I hadn't reviewed it before. Which is awful, considering how many times I've reread it. The ending is perfect, and remains perfect even when I know it is coming.
This story was amazingly bittersweet and a great read. I like the concept that Jack self induced his memory loss, though in this scenario it was quite saddening.

*Clears throat* Wonderful...absolutely brilliant. There's this bit of fanart by Tanydwr in her/his/their fic Passing Through Realities, Chapter 15: Two Years, that fits this fic almost perfectly. :)

Oh, that was truly brilliant and wonderful! I've been holding back on reading this until I finished CoE, because I wasn't sure how much Torchwood wasn't included, and there's nothing I hate more than spoilers... and even though I see now that I could have read it earlier, I'm kind of glad that I didn't. Let's face it - CoE was devastating and brilliantly horrible. I spent the last two hours in tears, and your story was just the kind of uplift that I needed. You've explained Jack's missing 2 years, and moreover, they were wonderful years that included Buffy by his side. You managed to combine the two worlds in such a believable fashion - giving them a past that works into canon for both shows, and a future that doesn't ruin what either of them have. And you gave Buffy the Doctor! I loved this story - truly loved it, and thank you for taking the time to put this out there for all to enjoy.
Now, I just have to go back to my trek through fanfiction. I continue to be devastated by Ianto's (horrible!) death, and am hoping to find a few good stories that give him a better end. Though there are sadly not nearly enough Buffy/Ianto stories to be found - with the exception of your brilliant "Lines." So here's to great BtVS/TW/DW crossovers - may your way with words be shared - and THANK YOU! :)
