The only one of Georgette Heyer's novels I have read is "The Conqueror", a non-romance historical piece set before during and after the Norman Conquest of Britain. I loved it to pieces, so I guess I'm going to have to check out some of her other novels, despite the fact that I'm not much for romances.
Thanks for this, it was great to see Willow kicking ass and not bothering with names. :)
I giggled hysterically at this because I truly didn't expect to get the obscure crossover but it turns out thtat I am currently reading that Georgette Heyer novel right now :-) I like the idea of Willow as Leonie who can and will kick butt if you displease her. Excellent work!

I enjoyed it - it was a different take to what happened that night. Although I haven't read These Old Shades or Devil's Cub in many many years, you got quite a few of Leonie's key things in there, although I expected the pantalons thing to come up earlier when talking about dresses.
I also think she could have called the Duke, Monsigneur at least once, called someone a pig-dog, and told Buffy she found her to be a dead bore.
But very happy you brought the fencing in and mentioned Rupert - one of my all time favourite Heyer characters.
Excellent! An inspired crossover--These Old Shades is my favorite Heyer, and I could so see Leonie reacting like this. I wonder if Ethan would qualify as a pig-person?
And you know, until I read this, I never realized that DeadBoy and David Boreanaz have the same initials. :-)

Okay, I have NO idea who this Avon lady is... But I LOVE THE IDEA OF WILLOW CURSING IN FRENCH AND BEING A SWORDMAN/WOMAN/PERSON!
Fun.

Leonie was the heroine of the novel 'These Old Shades'. I tried to keep her as true to character as possible, while keeping it short. The original character learned the sword from the Duke, an acknowledged master, and was known for her temper and language. Though I didn't get to use the infamous 'pig-person' insult.
Woo-hoo, a Heyer fan. I've loved "These Old Shades" since I first read it about 35 years ago as a teenager. Well crossed. I hope your muse and schedule will allow you to write and post more chapters on more stories sometime soon. Keep up the good work. Zafaran {mailto:} zafaran {at} fastmail {dot} fm

I think my mother would be pleased if I blamed her for my Heyer appreciation :D Well written prose is a treasure. As for my other stories - I have several projects on the go, including attempting the prelude for the Slayer vs Stargate storyline. er... And a Sentinel crossover within the storyline. sigh...
