I liked pretty much everything about this story except the characterization of House. I realize this is pre-series, but I can't imagine he changed that much between the story and the pilot.

Otherwise, pretty enjoyable stuff all around. I particularly liked the Catbuses, Spike, and the little nods to the non-major fandoms. I look forward to the sequel.

Curious about what you don't like about the characterization of House... I intended him to be changed by discovering his son, but if you think there's other stuff that's too out of character, I'd love to know about it. The sequel will feature some of the early series and I'm not sure you'll find he's changed as much as all that...

I have this thing that when I really like a story I ignore the last chapter. Because then it is over forever! lol I know, I'm a weirdo. I do the same thing with my stories - once one is close to completion, I can't finish it (not unless I totally close myself off from the world and force myself to do it).

I loved all the little character thoughts, especially Willow considering Xander and now Wesley considering Willow! I really love Wes but I'm not terribly good at writing him (mmkay, I never tried...but still, I tend to not rewatch Angel over and over like I do with BTVS).

I hope Xander gets someone!

EDIT: OKAY, I *thought* you had added the next story which is why I finally read the last chapter, but then at the end of the story there was no link to the next fic in the series, so I thought I was wrong...I see now that you DO have the next story, just not in series format. oops!

Wesley is one of my favorite characters to write. He's so complicated... so fierce, so repressed, so deeply wounded... He's rich with potential.

I know what you mean about letting go of a story... I am trying to do that with Turned From Darkness, but it is clinging to my skirts like a whiney little kid... and refusing to show it's best behavior!

Now, shoo! Go READ the next story and tell me what you think so you can inspire me -- as I said, an ornery muse is an uncooperative muse... ;-)

And I was totally blownaway when it was CUDDY! As soon as I read where House almost recognized the voice my mind flashed back to the beginning of the fic where CUDDY was gone too. Brilliant!

You are so very good for my ego! This is indeed my spin on the Angel vs Dragon idea. I haven't read the comics, so I don't know exactly what happens there, though I've come across bits and pieces.

I'm so glad to give you something conceptually appealing. I am writing as fast as I can, but of course, I'm only one person, and I'm dependent on Mr. Muse for what he decides to give me and subject to 'life' and 'reality', which means I can't write my life away, much as I'd love to!
