Particularly nice touch, having Jayne understand that Mal DIDN'T despise Inara, in spite of his verbal insults, which was why Mal had fought a duel with the jerk who DID mean it when he called her a whore, a piece of property rather than a person -- especially when Jayne starts to apply that logic to his own constant insulting of River, only to pull back from the horrifying implication that he might care.
