Creepy and disturbing, but highly addictive! (And no, we didn't see Ra's die, so we have to assume he's still around somewhere . . . even if the movie mythology disagrees with the comics and animated series mythology about Ra's being immortal.)
Hope there's more Ra's/Dawn interaction in the future, since something tells me that he's more aware of what goes bump than most people, and he somehow GETS Dawn. In the animated "Batman" of the 90's, Ra's had a daughter (Talia?) -- I wonder if he'd like to adopt Dawn?

Your dramatic psychological twist on this story was great. Dawn's slow development and growing articulation with Crane was masterfully played. I especially like the line "Steel traps stay closed" that Ra's and Dawn share a smirk over.
Also, thankyou for being an author that recognizes Ra's 99 lives in the Batman series. He's the bad penny that keeps coming back. Maybe Dawn can be his "Daughter" that later appeared?

I think Buffy should come looking for her. If Buffy is looking for Dawn, then I think that would help her start to heal, but if we stick to reality, where psychiatric problems take a while to heal that would still allow the fun to continue for a while.

Poor thing. This has nice flow, by which I mean it makes me twitchy because of Dawn's disconnect. Bewildering and beguiling. Always a good combination. Also, marotte in French means puppet. I wonder if that would ever matter.
You have very definitely caught my attention with this story. I don't think I've ever actually come across a story where the Scoobies forgot Dawn after Buffy's death - fanfic writers seem to avoid that particular plotline. Kudos to you for originality. I'm curious to see if Dawn is able to tap into any of the powers of the Key - after all, she doesn't think her human self is real, but she IS aware of what she is, magically speaking. It'll be interesting to see Dawn's first interaction with Batman. Oooh, and Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

From what I understand of the comics canon Ra's has come back from the dead more times than Buffy ever did. I enjoyed the fact that Crazy!Dawn can still snark with the best of them.
If my understanding is correct Dr Crane thinks Dawn is immune to the poison, but she isn't really because her invisibility psychosis was triggered by it. Does that mean if a cure is found for the poison that Dawn would get better? Are you planning on diving straight into the second movie or will will get a few intermediate chapters first? Will she be meeting batman or the joker or Harvey Dent?
It was hard to walk when your feet weren't there to touch the pavement.
Brilliant line.
