Review of chapter "The rule of which we do not speak." from Zarohk
Review:
Rule # Do not laugh at a horror movie/call it "unrealistic" (because it will happen to you)

Rule #21 - The monster will sneak up on anyone on a computer, but with board games you can each watch a side.

Review:
Not bad, I don't think that would work for rule 42 though. 20 maybe, not 42.
Comments from author:
Having it be rule #42 is an homage to one of my favorite scifi series ever (one I would also assume that Andrew, nerd that he is, would have some passing familiarity with). In that series the #42 is the answer to "life, the universe, and everything".

Review of chapter "The rule of which we do not speak." from (Current Donor)TheDivineDemon
Review:
Funny and most those rules are good for any demon hunter to follow. Though I will debate the outside light rule with a good rifle and a good scope point. Get to know what's out there and see if it's stupid or not to shoot.

Review of chapter "Rule #38" from HebiR
Review:
I am totally stealling this from TVTropes, but how about something along the lines of "Do Not Taunt Cthulu"?

Love the fic. I particularly like seeing Andrew as an effective Watcher. After all, he may not be the most social adet person, but he /is/ a well-read and (one assumes) experienced genius.

Review of chapter "Horror 101" from Eirliel
Review:
The Evil-Overlord rules can be found by putting "evil overlord rules" into your favorite search engine, the site should be one of the first 4 to come up. It was written back when the internet was only for nerds and you had to have a huge (256mg) modem to access it, I think I was about 5 or so, so... '91, '92 maybe.

And really is following anything that Arnold Schwarzenegger ever does in a movie a smart idea, but really Commando is the only one that if you take each individual idea and use it with multiple people, most of the concepts are good.

Review of chapter "Rule #38" from Musicalife
Review:
39: Always carry a flame thrower, it is well known that vampires are vulnerable to fire even if a stake doesn't work.
40: You are Food, never ally yourself to a vampire unless you _want_ to either get turned or become that vampire's next meal.
41: Betraying a vampire who is higher in rank than you are is a good way to get tied to a flag pole just before the sun is about to rise.

Review of chapter "Rule #38" from Cutiepie
Review:
The only "rule" that I can think of right now is that you don't tick off someone on your own side, especially one of the more powerful ones. Otherwise, they will leave you behind, and you will be toast. Oh! And NEVER be caught weaponless. That should be obvious, but it apparently isn't.

I really like this story and appreciate you writing it. =]

Review of chapter "Rule #38" from CPTSkip
Review:
Your series is both logical and as funny as jello manhole covers. I kept finding myself laughing my ass off and nodding my head in agreement with the Admiral's rules. I hope there will be many, many more updates to your delightful series.

Review of chapter "Rule #38" from EllandrahSylver
Review:
You know, people generally don't read the reviews that have been posted before reviewing, even with a fic like this one, so crediting only the first person to suggest a "Rule" is a little unfair, since the people who suggest the rules can realistically be expected not to suggest one they know has already been suggested.

I appreciate the shout out you gave me in the second chapter, and I'm not meaning to be critical, I just think that the chapters in which you listed multiple rules, the gist of which I know were suggested by more than the one person you said they 'belonged' to, make you look a little biased.

*****

That said, Never take a shower when you're the only one home, especially in a place you haven't been before or haven't lived for very long.
Comments from author:
I'm actually trying to credit everyone who mentions a specific rule, not just the 'first person'. If you see one that I've missed, by all means please point it out so that I can give that person due credit. Even if the gist was pointed out by more than one person, thus far if you haven't seen a rule credited to more than one, it's because I plan on doing a different ficlet because *I* considered the rule to be different enough to merit one. I already have a couple of rules marked because they've been mentioned by more than one person. Currently, I'm trying to go in chronological order with the suggestions, the first rules people who suggested are the first ones I'm working on and all that.

Again, if you catch something that I don't - point it out. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not perfect.

*edit* Ohhhhh... I just went back and re-read some of my notes. You meant the whole buddy-system thing, right? Sorry about that: my interpretation of the 'superstitions' rule got mixed up a bit and became a buddy-system thing, which has been referenced in a few other chapters. Yeah, it still deserves it's own slot, though I may edit it a bit.

Review of chapter "Rule #38" from Kumoatsu
Review:
Always kill it with fire and/or acid to ensure death.

A snipers bulet from 500 yards to the back of the head kills them better. "a mini slayer with a gun fetish"

if burning and acid are unavailable go for decapitation and dismember ment, that should at least slow it down some.

always check how flimsy the walls are nothing ruins your day more then having an arm bust through, grab you, and then pull you through.

beware the air ducks, grills, and ceIlings they love coming from those angles.

if you arefighting subterterrainials, don't hide on the first floor, if there isn't a second floor use the roof, if their isn't a house use a tree if there isn't a tree use a body of wAter, and if you don't have any of the above then get on top of your car
