And really, using hormones and the desire to get the attention of pretty girls to motivate the boys - very, very obvious. And why would the girls let the boys show them up? And if there's a potion to attract pretty girls, then there must be one for cute guys... and what if the person trying to attract the hot babe is someone like Crabbe/Nott/Smith/Creevey/Weasley (choose whoever is deemed 'unworthy' by that particular girl)...

Not a nice guy, and he doesn't seem to like students, but those little dunderheads will learn.

Judging by his eyes and his accent, I'd say that he was related to the race of humanoid serpents that are depicted in India; the Naga.

Either that, or the Serpent from Eden is in the classroom.

Or could it be Jormungand, from the Norse Legend? That would fit; he's supposed to be able to take human form on occasion, and since he's one of Loki's children, this would suit his sense of mischief just fine.

Pity Binns didn't set that essay in Harry's 2nd year, he might have taken a more useful elective than bloody Divination. Of course, if they'd studied scrying and search magic to find information about the past and present instead of fortune-telling, a spot of Divination would have been just the job for hunting down Voldemerde's plot coupons. Perhaps the saddest thing about the series is that Hogwarts seems to really be the finest magical school in the world, banal and humdrum as most of what it teaches is.

Interesting way to go about things though I can see how it would be hard to expand and keep original. I like how you involved the Flamels.
