I've never watched Dexter, but I've heard enough about it to enjoy this. I too would be interested in seeing more of what you have to offer with this, assuming you can think of anything.

I went to hit like as if this were facebook and the button wasn't there. This is absolutely adorable. I would love to see just a bit more, but only a bit. There's something about this pairing that my brain is afraid to imagine too deeply for poor Dexter.

This is just a fantastic story. I thought you got both Dexter and Illyria perfectly. This story is just so terrific, I hope you will continue their "romance" some day. I'm just wondering where they will find a Real Human to help them continue to perfect their Masks. Maybe Deb? The kids? What kind of a step-mother would Illyria make? I shiver at the thought. What an interesting pair to visit on Parent-Teachers Conference night. Lol!

Wow, I totally would have never thought of such a paring, but it works! "Fred" and Dexter, two people who don't fully view humans as people. It's an intriguing couple, with a very weird viewpoint. And the Fred personality as a mask was a cool idea too. If you wanted to write another story about the two, I would definitely read it.
Great work! When you put it this way, you completely convince me that Dexter and Illyria might find a lot of common ground in their 'grief work' and in their difficulty connecting with humanity in general. They might be quite good for each other . . . in a really alarming way!
