Actually, I find it rather fitting that one of the most evil monstrosities of any genre become a member of a race that he despised.
Harry should have him spend the rest of his life cleaning up after Buckbeak the hippogriff, i.e., sweeping up molted feathers, grooming, and getting rid of the poo.
