The writing's OK, but there's no final 'payoff' or resolution to the scene, other than having to call the insurance company to pay for the damages (which apparently is nothing new).
My first thought after reading it was "And....?"
There was no 'and'.

I can imagine that conversation. Reminds me of Buffy destroying a bench in college.
