ahhh and the anita i hate is here too :) loving this story so far. i have issues with the anita blake series, so much so i stopped reading after micah was introduced. but i love to read the fanfic. i have issues. looking forward to reading more.
you know, i really do still hold a grudge against the scoobies for season 7. even some parts of season 6. i can't wait to get to the point of the story when they're no longer in it. :) great first chapter. maybe my dreams will come true and kennedy dies in the next one :)
Hurry!!! More please! :) I am REALLY liking this story!

Review of chapter "Chapter Thirteen" from clarityfades
Review:
Okay, forgot one thing in the last review...Buffy's description of Belle as a "stupid bitch" for being an ass to Asher post-Holy Water? SO MUCH AWESOME-SAUCE. & I loved everyone's reaction to her statement. Anyhoo...back to the review for THIS chappie. Yay! They did it! They've bonded!! Whoo-hoo! & I love that the bonding (or Buffy's blood) healed Asher & that he also can stay up past dawn on occasion (like JC). & JC's joy at Asher's happiness was so freakin' cute! Loved it. & I was glad to see that Buffy left to fight vamps, not to ditch her men. But I think Richard's starting to see what happens when he's more concerned about himself being a monster than what's going on in the city he's sworn to protect. Oh & I find it funny that he immediately calls Anita--funny how he always wants to turn to her when the shit's hitting the fan, but can't really accept her as-is otherwise. Love Anita's (& Richard's) realization that Anita doesn't know jack squat about what's going on. Wonder how she'll deal with THAT in the next story of this series! LOL Not surprised she & the leopards felt nothing, Buffy didn't send them any power b/c she has no connection to them. Oh yeah, almost forgot from previous chapter (LOVE RAFAEL saying something about Anita's penchant for using his men as cannon fodder).
It's interesting to me. The leopards were always one of the weakest animal groups, made stronger by Anita being their leader. Which is something Rafael had a problem w/ in LKH's canon--that the leopards were closer to the seat of power w/o actually EARNING said place. I wonder if they'll slip back down a few notches now that the triumvirate between Buffy, Rafael, & Asher is in place. THAT could be very interesting...and how will Anita feel about not being the most powerful woman in the group anymore? Or the one that everyone listens to? Especially since Rafe (and others) are becoming more disenchanted w/ her "shoot first, raise the bodies as zombies to ask questions later" attitude.
Fantastic ending to a fantastic story. Can't wait for what comes next in the sequels! :)
Comments from author:
I'm trying to really hard, in the sequel, to find a balance between getting bogged down in the politics because I don't want to bore people and in finding a way to explain everything. I have plans for those leopards but getting there without the zzzzz's is a challenge LOL Rafael definitely has Anita issues.
Thanks so much for another insightful and thought-provoking review (I kind of WAIT for them!).

Review:
Wow, I am the MASTER of coming back to double chapters! Hee! Okay, LOVE LOVE LOVE this chappie! Especially Buffy not taking any crap from Rafael & Asher & not wanting to listen because they were mean first. & I really adore Jean-Claude's honesty, Buffy definitely takes the info better than Anita ever did! LOL & I cracked up when Rafael (I think?) had the idea that it was a good thing Anita wasn't around for their talk w/ JC. Also, absolutely adored Rafael & Asher teasing Buffy about the way to apologize, but I wouldn't be mad if that truck full of chocolate still showed up! Not too mention maybe ONE pretty shiny thing? :D And oh so typical Buffy, running away from something she wants. But I think she just needed some alone time for a minute (at least I hope so!). And I like that she's a little weirded out by the idea of becoming a threesome right away, though I think she'll become more comfortable w/ the idea as she has more dates w/ her boys (both as a threesome and one-on-one). Off to read the final chappie of THIS story! Fantastic work!

Buffy had trouble with a relationship ONE on one half the time, poor dear. Now she's got TWO on one to deal with. It won't be easy for her. Thanks so much for ALL of your reviews and your support!

I can't believe it's over. It was so good, and I so badly want more. *sigh*
I liked the Dracula idea, I think you did a really good job with that element. I was a little worried with the disclaimer at the beginning, about Anita and the Scoobies, but it didn't get too bash heavy, which I appreciated.
Asher and Raphael are my Anitaverse Buffy pairing of choice (that sounds weirder now that I typed it out) so I love this story, and I love that you did the characters justice. Brilliant. Any plans for a sequel?
Comments from author:
Yep, plans for the sequel are underway, thanks for being interested enough to ask! Dracula just seemed so different from Buffy's vampires I wanted to stick him in there. Thanks for the review!
noooooooooooo it finished. I enjoyed this story very much. Thank you for writing.
One thing why would Richard go to Anita. He likes Buffy and don't like Anita at this moment very much. and he knows Anita "hates" Buffy and can't be trusted to hurt Buffy. So that part I don't understand because he knows she will do something that could hurt Buffy.
well that's all. I really like this story and hoping for an sequel.
Good writing and fun to read. every part was good. the happiness, the sadness you wrote that very good.
don't wait to long with an sequel if you consider writing one.
Comments from author:
Richard does that in the books all the time. Hate Anita, hate what she is, hate that she accept him for what he is, but when he needs something, be it answers or Bolverk-type duties, she's the first person he calls. Richard isn't really so much of a forward thinker.
The sequel is in the works. Thanks for the review!
