Oldest living slayer. Probably would have to go with Faith on this one. The CPR revival really does not count as a death, frankly. BUT the dive off of the tower certainly does. She had been the slayer over 5 years at that point(almost 6 counting Hemery High). Faith was about three years later; so one year after Chosen Faith would be considered the oldest CONTINUOUSLY living Slayer.
Comments from author:
Faith does get the award for consecutiveness, but Buffy still gets the cumulative honors.

Nice story. Just a thought, though. Is Buffy really the "oldest living Slayer"? If she's died 3 times, technically that's Faith. Seems her claim to fame is re-set each time she gets herself killed. ;-)
Comments from author:
Faith is still behind Buffy because she wasn't Called until Kendra died and Buffy was only gone a few minutes fortwo of her deaths. And her one long nap lasted less time than Kendra's stint which was almost a whole year versus the 3 or 4 months for BUffy.

Was cute, but you should've just made it one chap and posted an amendment at the end for the 'change'.

So I just went and checked the scene that the other reviewer was mentioning. Yes, when the flat-lining sound starts the heart monitor still shows a full line of heart beats, yet it is no longer moving, so my guess is prop error, but after the first second of full flat-line sound, it is no longer possible to see the heart monitor. So I guess that one could take it either way. It's interesting the nuances that can develop in canon because of prop errors and seemingly irrelevant things that happen. If the heart monitor had continued to show new beats (instead of being frozen in a still frame) she'd be alive in canon, if it showed a flat-line, she'd be dead again in canon, but the frozen machine will let the viewers and fanfictioners see it however they want.

Cute little story. It's kind of the way I would figure it going with the Ministry if they tried to push Buffy around like that. Nice tie in with the Clint Eastwood stuff. Just saw Gran Torino (finally) so he's been on my mind lately.

Review:
Fudge was a moron but not stupid enough to take on The Slayer. Not to mention that the Council had much stronger and older connections to the UK Government; if Fudge pushed it he would find the Ministry placed UNDER the Council. You add to that all the support Buffy could demand from the US Government and others and the Ministry is frankly small change.

> AN – The machines did indicate Buffy flatlining in the
> emergency room after Warren shot her which could
> count as death number 3.

This turns out not to be the case. While there was an alarm sounding from one of the machines that go ping in the operating room (no doubt upset by the power spikes Willow was causing) the EKG display was visible in the background the whole time, and it showed Buffy's heart continuing to beat, throughout.
Comments from author:
I'll take your word ofr it.

Still, this is a cross and in this universe she still could have flatlined.

LOL. Oh, couldn't you have had Fudge call her bluff? That would have been fun to see.
