I just reread the story after several years and I still find it captivating and in character - thanx for it!
When I read it the first time I'd never heard the name "Vorkosigan"... Well, I think I know who's to blame for me spending the money on all these Barrayar books ;)

I sure thought that I had reviewed this previously, but I didn't see any evidence of it when browsing reviews, so here I go (again?).
I'm certainly on the list of people that have no idea who Miles is, though I've wikipedia'ed him since the first time I read this. That said, this is well written and enjoyable. Thank you for writing.

I was so happy to find this story. I absolutely love the Vorkosigan Saga and most especially those of Miles' mother, Cordelia, in Shards of Honor and Barrayar. You did a really terrific job with the characterization and story. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful story, both intriguing and very sad. I liked the little snippets of 'future' that you've given (love the idea that Xan and Dawn lived so very long together).
Now I'm off to read 'Vor Slayer', hoping that it turns out to be as readable as yours.

I read this a while back and was trying to explain it to a friend. Which didn't go over well as neither of us has read Vorkosigan. However, the talk inspired me to go find this story again (and took two hours of searching as I couldn't spell Vorkosigan and didn't remember your name until I found it.) But, I like the story, it worked well for someone who doesn't know the series, and I loved the sentiment of it all. And now I'm going to have to go read the series. Thanks for pointing me to something new. Dorothy

Oh, well done! Someone directed me here and I'm so glad they did! I was very skeptical about the idea of a Vorkosi-verse/Buffy crossover at first, because I figured it would have to involve a magic portal or something similarly contrived - not that those can't be well done, but my experience is that that's rare. But this was wonderful - and I think you're absolutely right, that's exactly the sort of thing that would capture Miles's imagination. Thank you for writing!
I'm a Vorkosigan fan and what an intriguing mystery to have bug Miles. I wonder how the spell works, though I do like how you leave the mystery unsolved.

A teenage girl and a scholarly middle-aged man? Rings a bell... Reminds of one name that would be in one of the first rows, with a star... Very touching.

Excellent Miles Vorkosigan writing -- you've caught the voices and the style, and I can easily picture Miles noticing all the discrepancies that everyone else fails to see, and ALMOST putting them together. I'm glad you mentioned this story, in response to my comment about the Sunnydale Memorial in your Stargate crossover. Very fine work, and quite moving.

i am a huge Miles Vorkoskigan fan and reckon that it McMasters Bujold was a Buffy fan she could have written this. It was so true to Miles inquisitive spirit, good on you that was great.
