Nice. I actually really like stories that focus on the weirdness of laws and politics in Anita Blake (and other supernatural media), especially since I think the author created a 'Verse that just doesn't work if you go only by her rules.

you should follow up on this. I could see this happening over time, but any kind of delay 'while proper procedures are being put in place" would result in lots of dead people, with headlines screaming it was the fault of the Feds for not letting the executioners "do their jobs".... quite a mess potentially whatever they do.
I imagine providing security for the president in that world is a real nightmare---psychics, magicians, vampires with a huge range of abilities, and on and on....
