This is so sad. I liked it, although I'm not sure Jack would ever deliberately close his eyes for something like that. He isn't one to close his eyes and pretend everything is ok, especially where his family is concerned. Still, beautiful story, thanks for posting!

I have just been rereading this story - and it is still a powerful tale. A thought occurred to me when I was at end part of story - that Jack would probably want, or more accurately feel the need, to meet Giles. Even if he doesn't want to do this, it might become unavoidable, if, for example, Buffy is seriously injured. This could be something to put in a sequel. BTW I am also now giving this story a recommendation.

Wow, I've never really read anything 'Buffy centred', but this is really good
It's sad that she doesn't have her scooby gang with her; is this because they're in Colorado Springs? If Giles and Buffy never went to Sunnydale it would make sense that they'd never met Willow, Xander and Cordy.
Either that or she's just visiting her dad and really does slay in Sunnydale; but the scoobies are dead.
Hope there's a sequel :)

Thanks! Yeah, there's no Scooby gang because they're in Colorado Springss and she lives with Jack. And I'm trying to work on a sequel even though it reads as a prequel right now. It's rather irritating. Jack and Buffy are kinda stubborn xD

That was really good. I love the way that Jack sees the pain in Buffy's eyes? Is it more obvious because she doesn't have the Scoobies to back her up? Is Giles still her Watcher?

Thanks for the review! Yeah, she doesn't have the Scoobies in this AU and Giles is her Watcher.

I don't know what to say other than great job! I like it, you really conveyed Jack's feelings in regards to Buffy's Calling.. His reactions are on the mark, I feel..

Thanks for the review! I was worried that some of it might be a little off.
