This is a great story, like a missing section of the book. I would love to see a followup to this, if not about North Korea, then anywhere else you choose would work too.

Apart from your interpretation of the Zeds being easier to bamboozle (storms and disco balls) could have been from the original. Damn well done.

Oh, yay! There aren't enough WWZ stories out there. Although I'd have very much liked to see it as a crossover, a standalone non-cross is nice too.

Flooded tunnels - a giant 'humaniquarium' filled with slowly moving zombies searching for one last bit of human flesh to attack. Gradually rotting in the icy dark waters.

I am sitting in a nice sun lit room at about 75 degree F air temperature and I just had one of the more horrid chills go down my spine as I finished your story. This has to be one of the most ... horribly nasty stories I've ever read. Well done. But that plot bunny who brought you this little gem was a psychotic monster.

The only possible solution I can think of is drill down to the tunnels from the surface with many big automated drills guarded by lots of troops and then drop lots of tactical nukes down the multiple shafts and set them off all at once to totally incinerate everything under NK. I don't think the High Command could get enough suicidal troops to go down into that Hell to try and clean the tunnels out otherwise.

Man, your story is going to give me nightmares tonight. I keep wondering about the officer forced to shoot himself. Shudder!

I loved World War Z. I think this is a great piece of fanfiction to add to it. I always wondered what happened to North Korea, and this paints a very possible scenario. I'd like to see a quest into the tunnels written some time, if the idea ever comes to you.
