Review of chapter "Chapter One" from CrimsonEmotions
Review:
I love this alternate take on the SDPD, and Kate would be a perfect fit. However, I wonder how they would view Willow's S6 ending rampage. They wouldn't have necessarily known about Warren's death (as I'm sure the Scoobies probably covered it up) but they surely would have known about Tara and Buffy's shooting, as well as Willow's rampage insofar as she attacked the police station to go after Andrew & Jonathan.

Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from WyseQuack
Review:
Great story.

Wonderful premise - that Sunnydale cops aren't as ignorant as commonly believed and view the Slayer much as the way the Gotham City PD views Batman. Only in Sunnydale the co-operation is even less overt and even more unofficial.

It would sort of explain why the police would come and incarcerate Andrew and Jonathan after their throw-down with Buffy (at least only the Trio members and not Buffy as well). Then again it _doesn't_ explain (at least to me) why the Trio weren't really a police matter _until_ that point.

I'll stop now before this turns into another full-fledged rant about Season 6. Although I will add that I am curious how the Sunnydale PD presented in this story would have dealt with Buffy walking in to the station intent on giving her confession after the Trio has tricked her into thinking she had killed Katrina.

Again, kudos.
Comments from author:
The police might have been investigating the Trio's crimes, and not yet connected them to the perpetrators. They used a demon to carry out their bank robbery, and then Buffy killed it, so the cops wouldn't have had anything to tie them to it. They might not have left enough evidence at the scene of their diamond heist, either. The only reason Buffy found out who they were was that they revealed themselves to her in "Gone."

Nice look at part of ordinary life in a place that is not ordinary.

Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Love Kate's "Fight Club" riff: 'The first rule of Sunnydale: no one talked about the Slayer. The second rule of Sunnydale: NO ONE talked about the Slayer.'

And I enjoyed even more Det. Clark's revelation that they know about Dawn's apprentice hacking, and that they deliberately leave ONLY the supernatural-related stuff that they actually want Buffy to know about lying around for Willow and Dawn to pick up, while keeping actually sensitive stuff sealed off. That makes so much sense! (As does the idea of generations of Sunnydalers learning that you don't invite even a close relative inside, and especially not if they've been gone for a while.)

Really brings out the frustrations of being a cop in SunnyD. Now, the questionis; will Kate do anything to upset the apple cart?

Good update,

I really like this, both as a stand-alone look at the SDPD and as a side story to Baseball (which I'm glad to finally see on an archive site that is readable and navigateable — unlike aff.net)

Thanks, and I hope you continue it.

Review:
Well, this is a nice twist. Seeing how the good cops in good ol' Sunnyhell work, not like the other really terrible ones. The ones in Season seven at the Bronze come to mind....but anyways, very nicely done! And it was also a neat idea to bring Kate in from Angel for this fic.

I really, really liked this -- the idea that Sunnydale's finest is doing its best in its own way to help handle all of Sunnydale's numerous problems. I do kinda wonder what they did before they had a resident Slayer, though. I especially liked the explanation for why they needed a Scully ("not every death is a ritual sacrifice, sometimes it's just an angry ex-boyfriend").

I also love Kate and adore the chance to read fics of what happened after she left Angel. Very nice characterization of her.

I have to admit that I'm curious where you are going with this. I've always been interested in fics about the flip side of Sunnydale.

Looking forward to more.

I really liked this. The 'rules of Sunnydale' were funny and I really loved how Detective Clark closed his cases.

Glad to see how it fit in with the other story... kind of wish that it was going to continue. I like Kate, and would love to see a story from the perspective of the much beleaguered SPD, especially one with Kate interacting more positively with the scoobies than the other SPD folks had especially in the bad ol' Wilkins days.
