I love this. The possibilities are spine-tingling. Imagine Xander living with Daniel and Paul Davis shows up with something for Daniel and Xander answers the door. Of course Paul has at some point liaised with the Council so he knows who Xander is and freaks out thinking something demony is happening at the SGC. Or somewhere Daniel mentions his boyfriend, the White Knight to someone and they choke. Teal'c having no problem with Daniel being involved with a guy but wants to meet him to be sure he's honorable enough for a warrior like Daniel. Don't know if I'd see Sam having a problem or not, depends if I'm having an anti-Carter day or not.
Not to mention the immediate miscommunication possibilities; Daniel calls Xander to say yes and Xander babbles something along the lines of 'you don't have to and I'm fine as we are' to which Daniel responds 'I've come out to my boss and best friend and they want to me you.' Then there is of course Willow looking into what Daniel does since Xander moves to the Springs because of course the girls don't approve. Though I do find it an interesting aspect since Daniel has met the Scoobies in the unknown past.
As a final thought, isn't Vala a bit like Daniel's Anya so of course that could be a source of tension when some chick comes and chains herself to Xander's boyfriend.
Keep writing, this is an awesome start and I really like your portrayal of Daniel and Xander so far.
