So I've been reading through your stories, and I have to say you have the single best understanding for how a good doctor who story should be told that I've read on tth yet. Kudos to you, keep writing more.

It'd be interesting if, years later, Bruce happened to run across something about Donna. Or, of course, the many men calling themselves 'the Doctor'...
Nice work.

I actually gave it some thought. You're the third person who made comments about a sequel or other form of continuation. And the prospects everybody's been giving me are intriguing, I admit. Especially yours. Perhaps Bruce recognizes Donna whilst she temped for his company? Maybe, but feel as though he wouldn't remember her very well, despite their little connection. The trauma of the following weeks would probably wipe the memory of Donna Noble and the funny Doctor from his mind.
So he could meet up with another incarnation of our favorite Time Lord, right? I don't know. My somewhat ridiculous hesitance towards any sequels is that I feel the world of Batman Begins/The Dark Knight is too realistic for Doctor Who. I personally just can't see a grown up Bruce Wayne from these movies interacting with the Doctor and hanging around a TARDIS. I told you it was ridiculous. The only time I could picture Bruce Wayne and the Doctor interacting at all was when Bruce was a kid, when he still had innocence and wasn't so darned broody all the time. A story as fantastical as the Doctor's doesn't have much in common with the gritty, realistic Batman of the Nolan movies. I just can't see them meshing without taking away from that relative believability of Batman Begins/The Dark Knight or from that mythical, fantastic element from Doctor Who. They would, I dunno, cross-contaminate?
Anyway, that's my own personal opinion, and I thank you so very much for sharing yours. It is genuinely appreciated.
Oh I love Ten and Donna! This was a really neat blending of two rather complex worlds. Well done.

Thank you very much. I love Ten and Donna too! That's why I chose to use them for this story. I considered using Eleven and Amy, but while I love this new season, I just didn't see them when I pictured the Doctor and his companion helping a young Bruce Wayne.

A simple bit of work, but undeniably effective for all that; the Doctor and Donna, in a situation where they know they can't do anything BIG to help, instead give a young boy a chance to spend a few more happy times with the parents he will lose so tragically in so short a time...
Any chance we'll be seeing further interaction between the Doctor, Donna and Bruce? Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing their reaction upon meeting Alfred- maybe he'd have some prior affiliation with UNIT, given how he's been said to have a past as a spy in some continuities?-, although them meeting Batman would definitely have its positives as well...

Thank you, MarcusSLazarus, for another wonderful review! I'm pleased you seem to have gotten the point of this story perfectly! Especially since when I started, even I didn't know what that would be. Honestly, the ending sort of came out of nowhere. I knew that I wanted Donna to give those tickets away, but I had no idea that there would have to be such emotion behind so simple an act. When I got to that point, the words seemed to have written themselves.
As for furthering this story, if a story idea hits me, then I may write a sequel. The way it stands though, I'm very happy with where I left off.

Would be great for a follow on - perhaps Donna could help get a smile back to a post-The Dark Knight Bruce...?

Thank you so much for enjoying my story enough to comment. Nothing brightens my day more, literarily speaking that is, like a nice review.
Though I don't know anything for sure, I doubt I'll be revisiting this story as I feel I've ended it on a perfect note. If I do tell another Batman/Doctor Who crossover, then this probably won't be mentioned. Probably. If I think of a good enough idea? Who knows. Thanks again for reviewing. I genuinely appreciate it!

I really loved this story. You captured the mad cap essence of the 10th doctor wonderfully. Donna came through well too.
It was touching to see Bruce Wayne recognized not as the future Batman, but as the boy who would lose his parents.
Comments from author:
I believe that young Bruce Wayne isn't really touched upon enough in the stories. He really seems defined by his loss. Makes sense, as that's why he's so compelling as an adult, but I wanted to see the child before the tragedy and this seemed like a really good way to do it.
Thank you for your kind words.

This was a perfect little one off. I thought you captured the Doctor and Donna extremely well. The little exchange between the lions and the Doctor sold it for me, though everything else helped as well. While this may be a one-off, hopefully we will see more Doctor one shots. Nicely done.

Thank you very much for your nice review. This is the first time I've ever written Donna, and I'm happy you feel I've done well with her. She is my absolute favorite of the Doctor's recent companions.
