This is really good. The pairing is pretty well written, with a nice build up rather than feeling forced. That scene where they bond in the episode with the invisible girl established canon Buffy and Cordelia understand each other on some fairly deep levels and you work off that understanding.
But, just as importantly, you've put some real thought into how the relationship affects everything else.
That's a vital part of AU stories that people often ignore, how events ripple out. When most things hinge on the main character, a change to her or her circumstances makes those things change.
Having Angel not turn evil on Buffy's birthday because he doesn't get his happiness, leading to him confronting the Judge and having an attack that burns 'humanity' weaken the curse keeping him humane is an idea that manages to be both clever and follow easily from the premise. It feels natural. It makes more sense than events somehow staying the same. And the way his killing Drusilla led to Spike's kidnapping scheme was another clever touch, another example of that ripple effect. It felt like some of his plans from later episodes (such as kidnapping Cordelia and Xander) without being derivative. It was a more cunning plan than that one, but he wasn't drunk and lovesick when he made it.
Honestly, my only complaints are that, having just beat Angel, I'm not so sure Buffy would feel she needed Spike's help. And the laugh about Cordelia using 'sister' in chapter ten was a little too far separated from the original comment to flow naturally. But only a little.
I look forward to seeing how things go, with Joyce getting some revelations in the worst possible way (still probably better than the way she found out about Angel, since at least Cordelia's not coming off as a creepy stalker) and Ami possibly dipping too deep into black magic (between the mind control and that 'thicken' spell which Willow didn't start throwing around, despite it being incredibly useful, until after she turned to the stuff for revenge on Glory, which implies it's a lot nastier than it seems).

Review of chapter "Chapter Eleven" from MarcusSLazarus
Interesting idea, I have to give it that.
Buffy and Cordelia’s gradual acknowledgement of their feelings for each other comes across well without appearing too blatant, and while I think Buffy judging Angel for Angelus’s past was a bit extreme, I can see how she might have had trouble getting past it without her more ‘focused’ interest in him (As well as recognising that I’m slightly biased given that Angel’s my favourite character).
On the topic of Angel, you definitely had an interesting idea regarding Angelus’s new ‘role’ in events; the curse isn’t actually BROKEN, but Angelus just manages to gain a partial ‘foothold’ in Angel’s mind (To say nothing of your idea about the Judge being responsible for his ‘condition’).
Hope Angel gets back to normal next chapter; even if Buffy's gone, he deserves a chance to make an impact on hs own.
(Just to clarify about my earlier comment regarding Buffy’s differing views on Angel’s past here and in canon, I didn’t intend to imply that Buffy was BLIND to Angel’s faults in the series, I just meant that she was more willing to look past them there, whereas here she’s trying to make a difficult choice between two people and is thus giving ‘pros’ and ‘cons’ more thought)

Great update. Wow, it's a good thing they had finished up, or Joyce bursting in would have been one heck of a buzzkill. Now the only problem is that Buffy has to explain what has been going on with Cordy to her mother. This should be good.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eleven" from Lilkitsu
Recently found this story, and am really enjoying it! The chapters are short and sweet, and I like the focus on interactions, etc., rather than a blow by blow account of each show. I like how subtle some changes are. Though Xander's sudden change of heart seems a little forced, it still lays some interesting groundwork for future chapters. The latest chapter ending, while a tad cliche, made me laugh. I look forward to reading more!

Well, it's embarrassing, but at least Joyce walked in on the afterglow instead of the main event. LOL.

Review of chapter "Chapter Ten" from zigpal
Great update. Oh great, Buffy is in the hospital, and Spike picks now to mess with the Slayer, and since she is feeling better, that could be bad for him. I'll have to wait and see what is going to happen.

I love that Cordy liking Buffy doesn't change her attitude much. However, I'm very, very nervous about the cliffie at the end.
