That is total BS, spike earned his soul while angels was given to him as a curse, not as form of redemption. Plus as was seen in the episode DESTINY spike had an equal claim to the shansu.
EDIT:Except that spike had no knowledge of shansu when he got his soul, he only found out about when he became solid. He got his soul and did eveything that followed for buffy.

That's the point; Spike's trying too hard to 'prove' that he deserves the Shanshu and is Angel's equal/superior, but all Angel REALLY cares about is doing good; the SHanshu is given to the one who wants it without specifically working for it.
EDIT: Exactly; he got it for one specific person and that's it, whereas Angel was cursed to be a mess and went on to become someone willing to help others because he wants to help, rather than just because he wants to be worthy of Buffy.
So what is Satan's ultimate weapon? So Satan killed Angel, but he is still there to fight him? I know Boston caught him as he was going up, but wasn't that supposed to be his soul? And the blast from him dying weakened the bad guys. OK

They had injured him, but injured doesn't mean incapacitated; we're talking about the being that survived the fall from Heaven to Hell, so it's going to take a LOT of pain to really stop him doing ANYTHING.
