You are doing a great job, Xander with Bruce as a tagalong is great. The Kendra/Xander interactions are interesting. I really, really like the Xander/Bruce interactions.
Thanks for a great story!

Review:
Don't know if i like it or hate it yet. If Batman ends up all being in Xanders head but to Xander it seems like Batman is real.. like in Beautiful Mind.. will like it. If Xander acts like he took vows of chastity? Will hate it.
Comments from author:
Heh - re: chastity, Xander's a teenage boy. He lasted less than a week after getting out of the hospital before he took advantage of Bruce giving him 'private time' in the bathroom to take the edge off. It won't ever get particularly explicit on screen, but Xander will be in a committed relationship or two (and potentially some not-so-committed relationships), and it's canon that the Scoobies are very much /not/ chaste in such contexts.
Re: Bruce's reality...he's essentially a spirit possessing Xander, and only Xander. Whether that makes him 'real' to others I leave up to you to decide.

Comments from author:
Sorry for not responding to your comments sooner - it was a busy fall! I very much appreciate your feedback, and plan on picking up writing the next installment again in a week or two: I'd hate to let a full year pass by entirely without an update when I already have so much of the next bit outlined.

Review:
Cool story. I like the way you contrast Bruce's experience, seriousness and lack of supernatural knowledge against Xander's light-hearted nature, ignorance and deep dedication to a war he doesn't really understand. Or something, it sounded nice though, didn't it?

Review:
Thank You for a story that doesn't make it all so easy ...
With Batman in a YAHF, it's almost automatic to end up with an uber!Xander - this one is still the everyman that we all love. This is a terrific portrayal of Bruce, as well. He's had many long years of ethical training; teaching Xander to think would be nearly reflexive.
Great job.
Comments from author:
Thank you for the feedback--I'm glad that my portrayal of Bruce and Xander ring so true for you. Bruce is an extremely ethical character, generally uncompromising in his vision of how the world should be. As Batman, he had a single guiding purpose in his life: infinite justice for the people of Gotham (and, depending on your canonical source, the world). As he is now, he's having to rethink his whole identity and ethical system. Which is more ethical, more morally correct for a person in his situation with his capacities: to devote himself utterly to Xander's growth and well-being, or to enact infinite justice through Xander? What exactly does it mean to be 'Bruce'?
That's Bruce's current quandary. It drives the emotional motor of the story as much as Xander's struggle to forge his own identity and own path.
Thanks again for the review; I hope future installments do not disappoint.
Review of chapter "Knight and Squire (Pt. 6)" from Godogma
Review:
I enjoyed the chapter after my last review to give it another read, and sent my concerns onward in an email, I can see definite improvement in the further chapters away from the original point I had problems with.
Comments from author:
Hi Godogma--
Thanks for giving this fic another try; I very much appreciate your feedback. The Bruce-Xander dynamic is a tricky one to balance, given how dependent they are on each other at this point in their respective character arcs. Toning down Bruce too much, e.g., makes him a complete non-entity, while toning him up too much makes him into a caricature of himself, and a complete bully to boot. Anyway, this next chapter is the concluding one for this arc of Xander playing the squire to Bruce's knight; the arc that follows is Xander's version of the Gauntlet, his chance to prove his independence and worth as a player in his own right.
Thanks again for the review; I look forward to hearing what you think of where this goes next.

Review:
This is an excellent example of a young Xander being matured by mentoring from Bruce. Literally from chapter to chapter. Good read Hoping for more
Comments from author:
What a compliment! That's exactly what I'm going for. Now to flesh out the incorporeal Bruce, who's proving quite reticent about his own character growth...

Review:
This is good, damn, lost a thought I had earlier...ah yeah! Have Bruce use Raven from the Teen Titans as an example, her lineage and where she was reaised. It will be good to get the point across.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the suggestion, and for leaving feedback in the first place. I'll definitely take it into account. Hope you enjoy the next chapter; I intend for this arc to end with a bang.
