Review of chapter "West Over Water" from (Recent Donor)Luna
Review:
Ohhhhhhh my god, I loooooooooooooved this one! In the words of Despicable Me character: "ITS SO FLUFFY I WANT TO DIE!!" :)

Remarkable. I love how you weave in all the many characters in the most unexpected ways. Frodo + Winter Elfling (plus Gandalf appearance) = WIN. :)
Comments from author:
I know it's a bit fluffy - it was written for a plot without porn challenge and somehow that led me to this rather sweet tale!

I'm currently writing about Frodo and the Winter Elfling in a story set about 3 or 4 months after that scene at the end of this one - it's the current WIP and it's taking a while.

Review of chapter "Growing up and growing older." from (Recent Donor)Luna
Review:
I never thought of immortal elves and the loss of their horses, animals, etc would be the first experience with death, not humans. I love these little insights you provide :)
Comments from author:
It seemed to me that the concept of mortality was not really foreign to the elves - just applying it to people they might actually be fond of, as opposed to their pets and horses!

Review of chapter "West Over Water" from whisper
Review:
I have thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Return of the Key series. I read the entire series last week to get me through my night duty breaks. I looked forward to reading in The Winter Garden with a mix of anticipation and dread. Excited for every update and realising that the end was creeping ever closer. The twist at the end was wonderfully unseen and so fitting for the colourful universe you have crafted. I look forward to seeing more stories in this series.
Comments from author:
I'm so glad that you have enjoyed it and the twist at the end worked for you.

I am writing some short pieces, set in this 'verse, at the moment for the schmoop prompts at Live Journal - but they won't be too shmoopy... honestly.

I LOVE IT!!!!

As always, you leave me wanting more. So many more stories to learn, and I keep waiting eagerly to read about Ithilienne. Can't wait to see more about Valinor, and about our group in general.
Comments from author:
Thank you - I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. I am doing some short pieces at the moment - it is quite possible that Ithilienne will turn up at some stage!

Review:
So lovely. Not the ending I'd expected, but a lovely one, all the same! So happy to see Frodo happy, and the elfling all grown up.
Comments from author:
I'm really pleased that the twist at the end worked for you. It wasn't the ending I had planned when I began and then it just came to me, when I was at about chapter three, and I knew it was the right ending for me - I just hoped other people agreed with me!

Another beautiful story. Thank you again for writing this, it nicely fleshes out what Tolkien left behind.

Review of chapter "West Over Water" from Angwen
Review:
Great ending! Was SO not expecting that! Clapping hands, standing up, scaring the dogs... "Bravo!"

Looking forward to the next installment! I intend to sing you praises during FenCon this weekend.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much - I'm glad that the ending worked for you. {{Dances Angwen}}

Thank you, too, for singing my praises at FenCon!

I have some story scraps at the moment - written for some of the schmoop prompts at Live Journal - I need to tidy them up and put them together. Off-line life is going to be a bit busy, so it is likely to be at least a month before I start posting any of them, I think. (Are you on LJ? Over there I use my usual pen-name which doesn't have the 'ly' in the middle... when I first joined TtH it was as curiouswombat, but I lost all my info and eventually rejoined with the variant!)

Review of chapter "West Over Water" from Ailsam
Review:
Sniff, sniff! I'm sure it's only the fact that I've just finished my period that caused me to be tearful at the end of this story!!! I just can't wait for the next installment of this story - and btw I'm sure you'd manage brilliantly at writing for 'The People's Friend', but can't guarantee I would read it!

PLEASE add more soon!
Comments from author:
I am so glad that you enjoyed it - and achieved a wee sniffle!

It will probably be at least a month before any of the wee scraps already written are shoved into shape to start posting - off-line life is very busy at the moment. But there will, most certainly, be more.

Review of chapter "Beyond Winter" from PATM
Review:
A story that I find cathartic for many reasons, personal and story related. Thank you for putting
so much of the story up.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much for this - for letting me know that the story has really touched you.

I will post the final chapter on Friday evening, UK time.

Another lovely vignette. Not surprised to hear you're a nurse. I'm a nursing student and I think maybe there's something in the nurse's soul that is touched with warmth... I hope so anyway :-) I always feel as if I'm been given a soul balm when I read your work. Not sure what The People's Friend is...

Peace,

Blue
Comments from author:
Thank you so much for your kind words, I feel as if you have hugged me warmly!

The People's Friend is a magazine in the UK read mainly by the over 50s - there is a bit about it here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_People%27s_Friend and also here; http://www.thepeoplesfriend.co.uk/

Not sure if they'd cope with sexy elves.... :~)

Review of chapter "We've been looking in the wrong direction..." from Ailsam
Review:
Your stories are always refreshing and so very, very original. Where do you get your ideas from?! You are one of my favourite authors and I'm always chuffed (do Americans use the word 'chuffed'? It means really pleased) when I spot one of your updates.

Have you ever considered writing professionally? You have an economy of style in your writing that would lend itself well to original literature.

Anyways, I will stop there before I sound too sycophantic! Thanks for the update.
Comments from author:
Thank you, thank you! I understand chuffed, being a Brit myself!

I am a full-time community nurse - I enjoy playing with words but have never really thought of writing other than fan-fic - getting original stuff published is, I know, hard work in the UK... The ideas often come from the periods at work driving between patients as I work in a rural area!

One day, though, I might turn my hand to it, at least short stories - although, perhaps, my style doesn't exactly lend itself to The People's Friend... :~)
