It's a terrible shame that you've based this on the rubbishy TV miniseries and not on the excellent series of novels.

I adore what you've started here, and I'd so like to see more of Buffy's adventures in "Riverworld" -- and particularly if she's going to have more encounters with author/explorer Richard Burton (as played by the always yummy yet delightfully menacing Peter Wingfield).

:D Thanks! I'm considering using one of my prompts for next week to continue this story, and if that doesn't work out the way I want it to, I'm definitely using one of my free prompt days to write Burton and Buffy's second encounter.

It seems this story is based on the latest version of Riverworld (in the novels Burton is one of the good guys).

Yep. Burton was the best part of that miniseries, and it seemed a shame not to use him for the prompt of villains.
