Beautifully done -- particularly the idea that word of Spock's breakdown on the bridge added to the sympathy and understanding, allowing him to bridge the two worlds better than anyone else, and also the idea that the worst losses are the ones that occur under your own command.

Not wanting to frighten the toe away, I wont squee all over it - but I really want too!
No matter which character you choose, you make them so real in so many different ways. This was painful (in a good way) to read.

I find myself crying each time I reread these, or, when I get lucky as today, when there is a new one. I could wish they would contact you, when they do the inevitable sequel, to do the writing for it. You create more than characters, you create *PEOPLE* in your writing.
