I love Sam's protectiveness of wanting to know so he can smack his own partner to protect Dawn's feelings....And presumably(based on her admission) she is like 26ish, plenty of time to have come to grips with the whole 'keyness' issue.........would love to see more!

Ahh, the mythical "normal life". And I would think Sam would know that some things are too painful to share with anyone, although it does sound like Dawn is past that stage.
Comments from author:
Sam knows, and I imagine if Dawn refused to tell, he wouldn't push it. But he's also the one who would notice, and care enough to try.

A well written opening to blow Sam's mind when he gets some evidence.
Comments from author:
I don't know... as much as Sam has seen over the course of his career, would it really blow his mind? It might actually come as a relief to him that some of the evil out there isn't human.
