Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Current Donor)Katrina
Review:
Interesting and well thought out. I liked it. I may agree that I can't see her as "uncaring" as Willow's mom in canon, but I can buy an AU where she is Willow's mom just as easily. It works for me. :)

Review:
Nice little fic! Arguably more realistic than the warm and fuzzies canon ending to HP.
Comments from author:
thanks!
yeah, i got a bit aggro with the epilogue.

Review:
Really enjoyed reading this story. Normally I think Hermione/Draco stories are trying too hard, but I liked the casual chemistry. I hope there is more to come in the future.
Comments from author:
i'm glad you liked it! i really enjoyed writing it, so... yeah. *grins*

Review:
huh, missed that last part. So... she marries, has a kid, doesn't realize said kid (Willow) becomes involved in the sunnydale 'night life' ? All those long trips to 'conventions' is really magical stuff? Would Willow then be considered a squib, that's why she's never told about this stuff? So each is hiding 'magic' from the other? Draco's kids are ALSO 'squibs'?
Comments from author:
except that willow, andrew and tucker all have magic, after a fashion - i tend to believe (okay, i didn't state it explicitly here, but it makes crossing these two universes much easier!) that either the hellmouth makes magic do the wonky, or that an entrenched history of native magic use causes magic in america to express itself via different mechanisms than wand-magic in europe.
but hey, i think too much. *grins*

Review:
Hermione Granger would not have been the clueless souless witch that Willow's mother was. For starters she would have been aware of the Hellmouth and vampires and the like; not to mention really knowledgable about magic; and she was also very aware of wandless magic. So her as Willow's mother just does not work.
Comments from author:
or she could have escaped into pure research after wizarding society turned against her, intensely indifferent to her daughter except when caught under a compulsion spell laid by an immensely old and influential demon... just a thought.

Review:
This was really cool and quite unique, something I haven't really seen before. I had hoped that this would have been the beginning of a series, but then saw in another comment that it was done, so I'm not going to beg for more.

Still, it was definitely interesting and I'll be looking out for more of your work. Good job.
Comments from author:
*grins* future drabbles may happen, who knows (hermione as sheila seems to be pretty controversial). i'm glad you liked it, though!

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from GwynApNudd
Review:
So Hermione is Willow's mother and Draco is Andrew's and Tucker's father? Interesting choices. I suppose it's more original than having them be Joyce and Tony. Although if Hermione were working out of Miskatonic University instead of CSoT, and were dating Betty *LeHane's* brother (or maybe her son, I get the impression that Betty is a somewhat older than 'Mione) ....

The story itself is interesting. It would be nice to follow up
Comments from author:
i have to admit, the bit at the end was just comic extravagance on my own behalf. but i enjoyed writing it!
and i'm glad you found it interesting, though i think it's pretty much done.

Sheila? 1975? Willow's mother - Sheila Rosenberg??? And Derek Wells (Draco) as the father of Andrew and that idiot with the Hell-Hounds?
Comments from author:
*grins*
much as i hate to say it, i can see hermione being a by-the-book mother. i'm not saying she's really spending all of her time at child psychology conferences, but she's not going to tell her child that she's working on theoretical magical weapons development in europe, right?
and derek wells... that was just fun :)

Review:
Granger as Buffy has been done before, but never quite like this--I like it. Hopefully you'll do followups? So...she gets Chosen & a watcher is sent (Merrick) but she doesn't let the Council know she's a wand witch? Could be fun. Maybe Amy's mom is a former Death Eater? Related to Peter P? (the rat transformation/animagus connection) Though one would think her actions as slayer would attract attention--Nest escaping, getting killed would be big news in the wizarding community... Let alone Angelus/Acathla or the Judge, etc.
Comments from author:
sorry, but i think there's some confusion. she's sheila (last name unimportant), and supposed to be willow's mother - the story's set in 1975. draco is a wells, and presumably tucker and andrew's father.
though your story sounds pretty awesome!
the bit about nest in the hellmouth was supposed to be in reference to the earthquake that trapped him underground decades before, implying that the university is well-established.
but i'm glad you liked it (i'm assuming you did, since the confusion sprung from the reveal - which i admit to be rather tenuous - at the very end).

AHHH! Epic surprise ending...I didn't get it for a second. One of the neatest backstory pieces I've read.
Comments from author:
*grins* i was worried it wouldn't come across, i'm glad you got it. and i'm glad you liked!

different. Shows the changes total war makes to a person. I hope you write more about Hermione, by far the most interesting of the Major HP charactors. Her work behind the grill covers for what she is doing otherwise which is a good tactic. I noticed she said nothing about Harry.
