22 is really too soon to give up so I hope Buffy can find a place for herself in her new world. At least she will be meeting up with one of the first exponents of woman's liberation in that world!

There really was no way that Buffy could have ever really gotten over their betrayal. Only if they had owned up to how wrong they were. That is just one reason why to me Season 8 is such a pile of constipated camel crap from the moron known as Joss Whedon. A true idiot savant- he was really good at one thing-creating the Buffy verse. And absolutely nothing else. As his record since has shown.

A second chance somewhere else where the pressure is not all on her is the best possible alternative to taking the well deserved final peace.

I think that while Season 8 was an interesting concept, it quickly lost track of what made the show special, and threw a lot of character development out the window. I still love Joss, but if I could erase Season 8, I would.

The idea of Buffy in the Tortal verse, in a place where she's not the champion but still has a role to play is interesting, and I think would do her good. Glad you enjoyed the story and thanks for the review!

Oh this is a grand idea! I only wish this were longer! I haven't read the Lioness Quartet in ages, but Buffy and Alanna would make an awesome team, especially when one considers Alanna's magical powers and Buffy's Slayer powers. I also like your bit about Buffy not being quite able to forgive her "friends" for kicking her out. I believe a lot of us fans were outraged over that and would love nothing more than to see her receive vindication over that debacle. Anyway, this was an intriguing little short that, perhaps, could evolve into a full-fledged fan fic...?

I'm all for suspending disbelief, but to go as far as to there not being fallout for the Scoobies throwing her out goes a bit far, wouldn't you say?

I'm definitely up to continuing this story, it's just a matter of time and wrangling the muse into focusing on either subsequent one-shots or settling down for a longer story. Glad you enjoyed the story and thanks for the review!
