I'm thinking maybe protein sequencing might be much more useful to the CoG. Humans being so similar, DNA gives more discrimination. But with demons being different species, many of their proteins (a major ingredient in goo) ought to be distinct.
I must've missed something - why doesn't Dawn like Ziva? You mentioned that she didn't in a review response for the last installment. I too am looking forward to when Ziva lets loose on Xander with both barrels, but probably for different reasons - I don't think it would come to violence, despite how often the writers of the show seem to have Ziva devolve to petty thuggery. I think she would start in on Xander in all her self-righteous but ultimately ignorant fury only to have him respond one of two ways: 1. Let her finish, then calmly and quietly shame her into seeing that he isn't the type to wastefully send a young girl to her death for no reason - and if he did send a girl to her death, he'd be right there beside her all the way to the pearly gates. After that they might have to split up ;p 2. Xander was already having a hellashishly bad day when Ziva starts in on him, and he blows up at her in such a way that she can't respond, until she realizes that what he does is important and far more stressful than her own job, and that he actually cares about the girls putting their lives on the line.
As to a physical confrontation between Xander and Ziva, that's unlikely - she already knows he's connected, and as impulsive as she is (which is strange for a former spy/assassin, even a young one) she's not dumb. She's supposedly a master of Krav Maga, which would make her far more effective against a human opponent than Xander's brawling 'style' ever could be. Xander fights creatures that, yes, are faster and stronger, but also generally depend solely on their supernatural strength and speed, not fighting skill. He's not going to be prepared for a person that will put him in a wrist lock, pull him off balance, kick him in the crotch (it looks like almost two thirds of Krav Maga moves/sequences involve kicking the crotch as the second or third step. ouch.), heel kick him in the temple while he's down, then beat the living shit out of him while he's drooling on the carpet. He might be able to dodge really well, but being a long lasting punching bag for super powered foes does not a good fighter make. I'd still call it even, just because he's still friggin' alive after over a decade of demon hunting, but he would not come out on top if she was seriously trying to hurt him.

Heh! I guess Xander's sorta affection for the NCIS team is *very* one sided (except for Abby), since Tony doesn't like him either. :) It was good of Tony to step in for Dawn to protect her from Ziva, though. Badass as Dawn is, I somehow doubt she's quite up to the Mossad assassin weight class, if only because the Scoobies really frown on killing humans. > >
I think Dawn would beyond that if for no other reason Spike would've drilled into her head that "Nobody Messes With My Nibblet And Walks Away From It"
Yeah. I can definitely see Spike teaching Dawn how to fight behind the Scoobies's backs.
Comments from author:
Between Spike, Faith, Buffy, and Willow all teaching her how to defend herself, Dawn's pretty much got it covered. But fortunately for Tony, there was no Dawn-Ziva throwdown. (His brain probably would have melted.)

I hope for Abby's sake that she does get that Goo Girl consultant title she's hoping for. This series continues wonderful.

I don't know, I think like Xander, Dawn would hold her own against Ziva. (And that's assuming she doesn't 'cheat' and use magic...) She wouldn't kill her, though. Just embarrass her a bit.
You'll find out more about Abby in the next installment. At least, I think it will be the next installment. (It's between an Abby-centered one or a Dawn and Xander one next...)
