Yay, I kind of felt sorry for the Operative a the end because here was a man who'd lost his place, and he didn't have anything to cling to. I'm glad you gave him something.

That was some damned elegant writing. I love the duality between the operative and who Book might have been, and between his loss of belief and Mal's. It fit in to a slot I didn't know was missing anything and worked wonderfully from beginning to end.
