This was really quite good. I don't know if you're in the military or just really good at research, but the setting and props were immersive and, from what I've heard from the army people I know, you did a good job with Buffy’s inner voice. If anything was worth a criticism, it was that I don't know if I buy Buffy being THAT good at languages. Of course, we never did see how she did in French class...
Good stuff overall. Looking forward to reading the next one.

Absolutely excellent. You kept Buffy true - but grown in the direction you wanted, which is the tough part about fanfiction. Folks tend to think you can just slot in a name and all the hard work is done because readers will fill in any holes with knowledge from the base material. All that manages is craptastic and frankly cheap writing. This? This isn't cheap. This is fleshed out, centered in, perfection. And as a proud Marine brat (Da is a retired helicopter pilot and most of my god-uncles tend to wear olive drab as well. Well. The ones that aren't stuck in white "Shoot me now" gear these days!) the military side of this was pitch perfect. I'm really looking forward to reading more and this is the rare gem of a fan fiction that might just be tossed dear old dad's way because I think he would appreciate it. As well as get a few snickers out of it.
Let's just say he's had a few times in his own military career where showing off a new 'toy' had him purring in delight. Rather like the interaction between B & F with the grenade launcher. Just EXCELLENT story telling.

I liked this a lot, none of that sappy girly emotional crap. Just a war story with tons of action. Fast paced ground warfare, having to think on their feet and get the job done. I found this story by luck and I'm going to read the whole series, then check out your other stories ... sometimes I want action oriented stories cause I get tired of all the emotional stuff. Thanks for writing and posting this action story.

This was one hell of a story. Glad I 'somehow' stumbled across it. It moved fast, but not too fast. It felt as though you hit all the right notes and it is easily the best 'first person POV' story I've read on TtH. Usually, I try to avoid them because they tend to involve 'issues'.
Really enjoyed the camaraderie that Buffy established with her squad as well as with Faith... She showed maturity and I really like that whether she and Faith will become good friends or not, they could work well together. They were fun together.
Peace,
Blue

There are enough authors out there that want to do angst, issues, and bashing. I try to stay clear of all three.

Great story. Thought I'd go back to start and read this series through from the start (as I'm reading the last story!).
Have to say I'd never have thought of Buffy in the US Army/NG but then in your reality she'd not met the Initiative so won't have issues with the military.
Getting used to the first person thing too, once you read it for a while you get used to it and it sorta works for Buffy.
Right, looking forward to reading the other stories.
All the best, DaveT.
