this was sweet, if a touch odd, and i had been wondering if that was the same actress or if i was imagining things. still, i *would* like to see some of connor being special as he gets older as various characters have said will happen... hint, hint?

Thanks. Yeps, same actress. There will be more of Connor's special-ness in later installments, I promise. But there's only so much a six-month old can do. Some of his special-ness is already showing, though; with his baby EMF thing he has going and with him being able to tell the difference between the real Dean and Shifter!Dean and with him knowing something was wrong with Dean in this one. And the fact that at like, four months he was able to throw his rattle across the room hard enough to leave a mark on John's forehead... But I promise, more special-ness will emerge as he gets older!

Love this series - so beyond cute, especially Connor's attachement to his family.

For your chapter name pattern, have you looked on One Look? It's a dictionary search engine but if you put it *ance or *ence as your search terms, set it to 'words only', it will come up with hundreds of words that end in those letters for your chapter titles.
Not that I'm trying to encourage you to write more in this series... :)

Oooo! Thanks! I was actually hoping someone would know a good link to use because the one page I do have bookmarked doesn't have definitions for a lot of the words. Thank you so much! And don't worry, there will definitely be more to the series! I have three of the future titles picked out, but it will be a while before we get to those stories....they take place when Connor's about 15 or 16, I believe. So yeah, definitely more to this series. :-)

That was a good retelling of the episode - and I love the "first word" joke. John's first reaction to the supernatural is *always* hostility. However, I'm sure that he would have backed down immediately. Sam went into overprotective mode right away. He's right - he'll need some space to cool off.
These little vignettes are a delight.

I'm glad you liked it. I actually wrote Insistence specifically to lead up to the scene in this one. I got that idea for the scene for his first word and then went back and wrote Insistence so that I could put the scene in here, lol! Then I had to figure out how to do the rest of this story, aside from just that scene. John's first reaction is definitely hostility. But don't worry, he'll be back. :-)

Wow- this was just so frigging cute. (see my using the word frigging there -nods-). Connor clinging to Dean was just adorable- and after seeing 6x02 I can totally see a ickle baby clinging to Dean. And I do think Layla is Darla...maybe sent to make sure that Dean was the one to be healed- so he could protect her son...and I like how Connor's first and second words came thick and fast- Dee and Da...I can imagine Connor calling Dean Dee when he's a teenager- and all vulnerable and that after he's been hurt or remembers his real past...I need more of this series!

Thankies! Dean with a baby really is so freakin' cute! I couldn't stop thinking about this series the whole time I was watching the ep! I still think Dean shoulda been humming Metallica to Bobby John, though.....
