Excellent work, I'm glad to see some original ideas floating around out there. I look forward to future updates. I'd give you some constructive criticism, but there's nothing negative to say about this series.

Damn good work.

This is one of my favorite series on the site and am hoping when you have the time (I understand far too well) to write and post new chapters, they arrive soon.

Just a reminder...new chapter soon? :P
Comments from author:
I would like to put one out, but unfortunately, I've been busy.

I've started college, working on a video game design course. Great course...not much free time. Learning this stuff takes a lot. It is neat seeing your program work, though, even when you start off on something small and simple.

Review of chapter "Plans in Motion" from mountainelements
Review:
This story is really interesting, if also dread-inducing. I really like Xander's transformation, though I'm having trouble visualizing Giles willingly calling Xander Master. I'm also confused about the alternate reality. It seems like ghost Willow was supporting her best friend's career as a murderer. Why? The correlations are pretty amazing, especially Kendra as Talia. I hope that she wakes up instead of going back to Henri though. It'd probably be hard to find him now that he has a new body though.
Comments from author:
The ghost of Willow wasn't. It was the First Evil. Remember it can only take the form of someone who died. In that world, it used the opportunity to nudge things a bit. The end result being the differences when things changed back, Cordelia possessing her other self, Lex Luthor going from science nerd to senator, and the big one: Karen Kent.

Now what could the First Evil possibly want with the imbalance introduced by a Kryptonian existing where she shouldn't, I wonder?

Heh. I appreciate that, and you're welcome. It'll take me a bit to get the next part out. Technical difficulties on my end.

Review of chapter "Plans in Motion" from darkcarnage
Review:
Another great chapter. Does Cordelia and Buffy know that Xander is Batman? I don't think you mentioned it in this or the last story.
Comments from author:
Nope, they don't know. They're operating on the assumption that he's a badguy, considering their experience with him is entirely with his counterpart. So every clue they manage to dig up on him being Batman, their preconceptions make them interpret wrong. Xander isn't clean, what with how he got his money, but he isn't bad, either.

Review of chapter "Complications" from TheHeartist
Review:
Really good stuff, as is consistant with this series. I'm looking forward to a Power Girl/Glory throwdown at some point, but I'm still chuffed to bits that you're doing your own version of Arkham Asylum (the game.) I like Angel/Two-Face as a manipulator, just as canon Angelus is, toying with his enemies and making calculating behind the scenes moves. Giving him Wolfram and Hart to play with makes for a worthy opponent for Batman, also a good way of getting Batman's rogue gallery into the mix. I'm assuming the monks have chosen Xander as Dawn's brother now that Buffy is dead? Hmmm...Dawn as Robin, Gunn as Nightwing...just thinking out loud, this is your story after all. Much enjoying reading it, keep it up :)
Comments from author:
I'm aiming for a bit worse on the Angel/Two-Face front than Angelus. He may not have ending the world in mind, but he did burn down a house to get at the people inside, circumventing the no-invite rule. He's got a lot of resources behind him, and lastly, he's the most difficult vampire to kill on the planet now. With the Gem of Amara embedded in his hand, he's not going to be easily bumped off. Sure, any member of the Justice League could do it in ten seconds flat. The trouble is getting them.

Review of chapter "Complications" from Kovac
Review:
I really enjoy reading these stories, mainly for the fantastic gallery of bad guys. You did a great job with these ones. Add WishBuffy and Catwoman, Arkham and Walsh in the mix ... Xander's going to have his hands full.

One small criticism and JMO. No matter how hard I try, when you're using the name Batman, I only see Xander in a Bat costume.

The wistfulness and repressed anger hidden under the mask of the playboy are what make of Bruce Wayne/Batman such an ambigous, dangerous, character. Wayne is only himself when he's the Batman. Xander is too different, he doesn't have the steel and the style... and I can't get into it...but that's just me. I do like your Xander, I just can't call him Batman.*G*

AlternateCordy is more Bruce Wayne than Xander anyway. Same background, same backstory, hiding in the shadows... Did you do it on purpose?

So, AlternateGirls suspect Xander's money come from a scam.. which it is. I wonder how you're going to deal with that.
They have bad intentions and who can blame them? Deathstroke's a monster. Well, if someone told me the Ted Bundy of this new world is a good guy, I don't think I would become chummy with him anytime soon. Trust him? Riiight!

Cheers, Kovac
Comments from author:
Fair enough, there. The thing is, while he's Batman here, he's not the Batman of the comics. I can't get him there. The closest I ever got was in Dark Knight, Grey Heart, when he was trying to track down just who killed Buffy and Joyce. With that arc resolved by Angel killing the perp, there's not much he can do about it.

The anger's there, but a big part of what makes Bruce into Batman is the time between the shooting and when he put on the mask. Some twenty years of festering anger, ripping into his soul, until he managed to find a way to channel it in a mission he -needed- to do. Bruce was also isolated, in part because of his young age when Chill killed his parents, and partly because of the background he had. He was rich, and partially because of that, he wasn't forced to put the past behind him. He had ample opportunity to put things behind him, but he didn't. Xander is different, the pain of losing his friend, in part because of his own messup is there, keeping him in the mask. But remember, he put the mask on to help out Buffy. He sees staying in it as the best thing he can do for her. He feels he owes it to the Summers girls.

I guess I'm saying that, while in this little verse, he is Batman, he's not the same Batman as Bruce Wayne. And that's okay, despite getting the money and resources, finally, he's not Bruce Wayne. He'll never be. They've got similar but different motivations here, and very different backgrounds. You see Xander in a Bat costume? That's okay. When I was watching Batman Beyond, I saw Terry in a Bat costume, it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the series. It added nice little twists on things which I enjoyed, rather than turning the kid into Bruce Wayne's young clone. I'm going for the same thing here.

As for the WishCordelia and WishBuffy, I've got plans for them. Yes, it was deliberate for WishCordy to be the counterpart of Wayne here. Yes, she's Catwoman, but she's not the Catwoman of the comics. She's got an agenda, and a lifetime of anger behind her. WishBuffy will be somewhat helpful to her, because not only is she familiar with what's happened, she's also got an outsider's perspective on things. She won't be as blinded by hate for Xander. Instead, she'll have her own trouble with Angel/Two-Face, but hey, you can't have everything.
