Review of chapter "The Young Warrior" from Angwen
Review:
Hoping your husband is well! Hoping you are well! Hoping we let poor Spike out of the 80's Lounge Room here pretty soon! ^_^ Happy St. Patrick's Day!

RELAX!!!!
Comments from author:
I recognise what you've done - I've been known to do it, too!

I don't see it as a short visit - it is going to be years, not weeks. But he isn't forgotten I promise.

Poor Legolas. His heart (and other body parts) are strong and sure, but his stomach is weak, it seems.

PS: Are you excited about 'Desolation of Smaug'?
Comments from author:
I think, after the first few years, it was not really a problem any more - but he might have worried about it for a long time, and the 'make him some toast' directive probably went from patrol to patrol and remained a tradition even when he no longer entered battle with an empty stomach. Hence Galanthir doing it in Brotherhood.

And oh, yes! I am definitely looking forward to 'Desolation of Smaug'!

Poooooooooooke... poke poke poke poke...

This is me, poking you in the Muse... ^_^

Happy Holidays!
Comments from author:
Don't panic... I am 5,500 words into a new long one. I like to get a few chapters of the longer ones under my belt before I start posting them - especially as writing time might get a bit squeezed by Christmas and new Year.

But here is a hint of what it is about... do you remember the very last line of the epilogue of Return of the Key?

Next, Dawn should suggest putting sails on their surf boards, for those days when there's a nice breeze, but insufficiently large waves.
Comments from author:
It will probably occur to one of the elves without her needing to point it out. But I leave this up to your imagination!

> She decided that her role was to wait on the shore

They also surf, who only stand and wait.

(I've been waiting years to find an appropriate place to make that pun.)

Hee! Her new motto. Thank you.

Review:
Hadn't even thought of surfing. Glad to see the volleyball included though.

I had a busy weekend and couldn't read this right away. But I was working through my backlog and was on the second paragraph of this when my e-mail beeped for your update on my other review. Talk about timing. Well done.
Comments from author:
Somehow, when I set off to get them to play volleyball, they just insisted on trying surfing...

The timing was obviously a case of great minds thinking alike!

Review:
Lovely - but what would the Elvish version of a surfing song be like?

If everybody had a surfboard
and an Elven bow.
You'd see 'em shootin' and surfin'
From here to Utumno...

Yes, I know the geography is a little unlikely, it's the only rhythm with 'bow' I could find.

See http://forum.wbfree.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14471
for the complete lyrics of Skeet Surfin' which is where I stole this.
Comments from author:
Oh I like it! I'd thought of 'Everybody was surfin', surfin' Valinor' - but yours is better!

Oh my gosh! I loved this! Such fun visuals. And yes, indeed eleond must always enjoy seeing something new! I liked seeing erestor introduced as well. Thanks for the addition to the tale!
Comments from author:
Thank you - She had met Erestor briefly when she first visited Imladris and he was getting ready to sail 'in a year or two' - so I thought it would be fun to get them reacquainted!

Elves are horny bastards, aren't they? Well, if they're enough like us that we can interbreed, then they must be. Good chapter.
Comments from author:
They have plenty of time for experimenting, I guess. And waiting for a few millennia to try out the equipment seems unlikely to me... :) And thank you!
