Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Current Donor)Listener
Review:
I'm rereading these, and I just noticed that you mentioned that Buffy's mom used to have a drink every now and then and that it didn't affect her. Is that a way of indicating that Joyce may have been an alcoholic-in-hiding? (Not flaming/complaining; just curious, given that some mental disorders are hereditary, and addiction is a mental disorder.)
Comments from author:
Yes I remember this and discussed it with someone I knew who had more experience with alcoholism than I did.

There were a couple of instances when Joyce appeared to turn to 'the demon alcohol' at times of stress...the telling Buffy to leave incident at the end of season 2 seems to have been alcohol driven in part. Now I'm not suggesting that Joyce was an alcoholic as written in the show...but...I am suggesting that she could have been had we seen more of her life than just the glimpses we got of her in the show.

As I understand it the children of alcoholics have a greater than normal chance of becoming alcoholics themselves, which is what I needed for this sub-plot to work.

Actually I'm glad you've brought this up because its reminded me to repost 'The Demon Alcohol' story as its own story and not as something tacked ontoi the end of another fic.

Thanks for re-reading,
D.

Review of chapter "Chapter Six." from maxthehobbit
Review:
That was really weird, a giant monkey. Then Buffy making a deal with the mafia, pharmaceuticals-drugs, trucks?
Comments from author:
Based on a local legend, as I think I explained in the story.

Buffy/Mafia; Everyone expects that the old Watchers Council was mega rich and Giles and Buffy would be able to get hold of the dosh real quick and easy. What if they weren't what if whatever money there was was closely guarded by lawyers? What if Buffy and Giles had to make deals that they'd rather not?

Well, that was my thinking when I started to write this series.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Are yes the Hartlepool monkey, still an issue used to ridicule northerners by us Southerners. Great set up for the future stories (of course when I'm writing this review it seems a lot of them have already being published).
Comments from author:
Thank-you.

Yes those stories have been lying around for months, I'm just putting the finishing touches to the Season Finale...which has turned out to be a longer story than I'd planned. See the series intro for revised list in a few days time.

Hope you read a few more and enjoy them.

Cheers,
Dave.

Review of chapter "Chapter Six." from Gideon
Review:
Overall a good story and obviously setting up for some of the later stories in the series. A strange mix of deathly depressing on Buffy's part and weirdly funny on Faith's part. I like how you contrast the British and American names for the same things, very punny. Mr Scapone has potential as a big bad, being mysteriously mobsterific and keen on expanding his hold on Buffy. I am wondering which way Kennedy will be pulled in the end.
Comments from author:
You're right about it being a set up for later stories (most of which are written!) Some of the possible future plotlines got used others not so much, things sorta went off in different directions and some are small scarlet fish!

Thanks hope you enjoy the future stories.

Dave.

Review:
From a successful roll up of the story with Faith and Xander, the dinner party of the newly affianced to a sense of foreboding arising from the deal Buffy agreed to dah dah dah dooooommm.
Comments from author:
As a certain Scots Home Guard would have said...'We're dooomed!'

But then again it could all be a double bluff and everything ends in puppies and kittens.

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
So, by having Kennedy's dad support, Buffy has given a looot of fuel to the Council most powerful political enemies, bet she was not expecting that from the deal.
Of course, it's gonna take time for the rigth people to join the dots, but I hope that at least Buffy can bounce back to her feet again and leave her depresion behind.

So, Faith is into rugby?? Cool, she's a natural!!. Any crossovers planned for the next tale in this series =)??.

Cool fic, see ya!!.

P.S. About the ghost monkey problem, a little salt and a little fuel can do wonders about that kind of problems =D.
Comments from author:
There's about 18 stories in this series most of which are already written...there's even a spin-off planned! As soon as I post story two you'll see the list of future stories when you click on the series intro link.

Cheers,
Dave.

Pharmecuticals and farm equipment? Pretty sure I can guess what the pharmecuticals are, does the farm equipment have names like AK-47 and Uzi?
Comments from author:
Yeah you know those famous T55 tractors and RPG7 seed drills...what do you expect from someone called Scarpone?

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
This has been a surreal experience from word one. I enjoyed the final two chapters very much, and I look forward to more of your writing, assuming the other stories are as offbeat as this.

So are we to assume Kennedy's father is mobbed up in some way? I half-expected him to mention he was in the sanitation business.

Here's a plot-bunny for you: back during The War, Mrs. Slocombe was a Potential. Vampires, demons, etc., were taking advantage of the Blitz to prey on humans, but the Slayer was not available, so Potentials were thrust into the fight. It might explain her fondness for gin...
Comments from author:
Actually that plot-bunny sounds interesting, I don't know if I could do it but its something to keep in mind even if its just a sub plot in a bigger story.

Well, i hope I can live up to your hopes for off beat stories, how do you feel about haggises?

Cheers,
Dave.

Review of chapter "Chapter Four." from Cutiepie
Review:
Poor vicious, homicidal monkey. Does this new hanging put Faith and her descendants on the monkey's "poop" list as well? Or has her retrieval of the pendant ended the cycle of mania? Just how did the monkey obtain the necessary components to be able to return and wreak havoc like that anyway? Not to mention the incredible increase in its size. Wow! Still enjoying this wild tale, and awaiting the revelation about Faith's sporting endeavors. :)
Comments from author:
Well, some things will always be a mystery. Maybe in a hundred years time another giant monkey will come and hunt down Faith's great-great-whatever grandchildren, lets just hope they're as tough as old gran'ma!

Sporting feature coming up tonight!

Cheers,
DaveT.

Review:
H'Angus is the mascot of Hartlepool United FC and dresses in a giant French monkey costume. The second person to have the job, Stuart Drummond, became an incredibly well-known local character and was elected as Mayor of Hartlepool in May 2002. He had to leave the mascot job and the next H'Angus, who would have been in the job at the time of your story, was Ceri Anderson (who got the job because she was the best at acting like a monkey of all the applicants). The current H'Angus is Scott Llewellyn (who did the 2006 Great North Run in the H'Angus costume).
Comments from author:
Of course! I remembered this as I started reading your comment. I'm sure I must have read about it but then forgot it almost immediately...oh well, there's only so much room in my head for interesting factiods!

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
History repeats - the monkey in a french uniform hung from the town hall?
Comments from author:
I've no idea where the original was hung...actually how do you go about hanging a monkey? Wouldn't it just scamper off or climb up the rope? Anyway, I wrote it that way so I could get in the King Kong gag.

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
TTH should have an award for the strangest crossover of the year. I laughed, I cried, I ran screaming when I saw bananas in the grocery store. Mind you, I still believe this story is best read with some special brownies as a snack, but I am enjoying it!
Comments from author:
Thank-you so much your review made me lol.

To think I never use 'special brownies' to think these up I'm just 'odd'. Blame a misspent youth watching 'Monty Python' and 'The Goodies'.

Funny I've often thought there should be a prize for the weirdest/most obscure xover. Maybe next years COA's?

Cheers,
Dave.
