Oh wow, only one chapter and I'm already in love with this. This is such a different approach from the usual BTVS/Firefly crossover, and so much better for it. Can't wait to see more!

Oh, I loved this! I love the idea of Book's background (his being assassin and all) and how Xander and the girls are the ones who changed his views and what propelled him into leaving the Alliance and becoming a shepherd. Brilliant explanation. I do wonder how Xander became immortal though? Hmm...
Anyways, this was a great story! Is there gonna be more?

After watching Serenity, I kinda thought that this is what Book could have been before we met him. It doesn't explain everything, but it could certainly explain a lot.
There will be more, there will be an explanation into Xander's immortality, and more Book. I just need to make it through my 2010 writing commitments and I will start again on stuff.

Oh, this is good! They hinted in the series that Shepherd Book was very important/high up in the Alliance and it's nice to see someone using that. Though I have to admit, at first I thought it might be the Agent guy from the movie... Book is better. I hope you continue this so I can find out how Xander is immortal.
Comments from author:
Yeah, as I was writing it, I was kinda channeling the Operative from Serenity. Book is awesome though. Playing around with his back story is always fun.
There will be more to this verse in the new year.

????? No offence ment as it seems wellwritten enough. But I don't see any relation to either BTVS nor Firefly. (Though admittedly I know the latter less)
Comments from author:
I'm aware that I've sort of dumped the reader into the middle of it, but since this is only the first chapter, there is still time to explain why/how Xander is in the future, and how Book transforms into the character we meet in Firefly/Serenity.
A bit confusing of a start but once I started to grasp what was going on I loved this idea. I have seen more than a few Firefly cross overs and while the biggest flaw the genre has always been finding stories that are completed this idea is to orgional to pass up. Book went from a heartless goverment assasin to a preacher willing to work with a boat load of thieves to do what was right. That was a might dramatic change, especialy since Operatives were chosen because of their extreeme faith in their cause.
I have never seen a story that adressed that turning point in Book's life.

Yeah, I did kinda throw the reader in headfirst, but I'm glad you were able to wade your way through, figure it out, and enjoy it!
Hopefully the rest of the story (when I get around to writing it) will be as well received. Thank you for the review!
