Hmmm. I'm enjoying this version of their story. I hope to see more soon and maybe discover how they split and how they'll get back together. I love the pairing of Asher/Xander.

It is a proof of true love from Xander to have healed him. Will it make their love that much stronger? Will Jean-Claude be thankful for at least that gift brought by Xander being here and Asher's mate?

Will Anita be jealous of Asher beauty and understand one more reason of why Jean-Claude loved Asher so much?

This looks like the beginning of an interesting story. I've read several of the Anita Blake books, so I am very familiar with the characters and what the AB verse is like. The 'MARKS' created by powerful supernatural beings are hard to break. Once they are created, the parties involved are pretty much bound for life. Even if they don't like it or want it. An example of that is the werewolf leader, Richard Zeeman, and his marks with Anita and JeanClaude. He was massively unhappy to be bound to them, but there was nothing that he could do about the ties. It seems that Xander is in the same position with Asher, and if Asher wants Xander back, he'll be able to use the marks to make Xander come back to him. So this is going to be a battle of wills. I'm interested to see how things turn out.
