Review of chapter "Aftershocks" from BlueEyedBrigadier
It's truly astounding in how well you've captured the various characters through how Buffy and Xander wrap themselves in their mutual feeling of primary guilt and how they categorize it. Xander uses the Hyena possession and Buffy sees the unlocking of Angelus as their touchstones for just how obscene their actions (in their own minds) have become. Xander viewing it as just vengeance for nearly doing the same to her a year earlier and Buffy sees it as her own descent into the darkness she's fought from swallowing her whole since being Called. It feels right - and "right" is the technically correct term, but nothing correct or good is involved in this horror - for how they would act.

Stunning work and I'm glad you managed to get it out and on metaphorical paper!

Review of chapter "Aftershocks" from (Recent Donor)Luna
Well-written and interesting 'what if' piece, but very hard to read (of course)

Review of chapter "Aftershocks" from Gideon
Sometimes a tragedy is not anyone's fault. Of course this is more Xander's fault than anyone else but even he did not intend for that to happen so I can understand why Buffy doesn't blame him. I hope that she can try to rebuild their friendship, slowly. It will always be in their past, but I know they are both strong enough to move past it - eventually.
I wonder if Cordy would be aware of Xander's feelings enough to know he would want Buffy to fogive him as much as she wants him to forgive her.
Comments from author:
I absolutely agree. Sometimes tragedy occurs through a particular set of circumstances or unrelated poor choices, and not necessarily as the result of malicious intentions or actions. In fact, I find those tragedies to be most compelling - either because no one is at fault, or because everyone had their own part to play.

I think Xander and Buffy would eventually able to move past it, but it would always linger. As for Cordelia, I would suspect that she's aware of their feelings, but I honestly don't know what she would do about it. At this point in canon, I imagine she would press Xander pretty hard to avoid Buffy at all costs, if not outright leaving the group. In fact, she'd probably drag him off to Los Angeles with her when the time came.

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated!

Review of chapter "Aftershocks" from Soothingmadness
Nice, a little creepy and disjointed, but nice!
Comments from author:
Thanks! Yeah, it was meant to be disjointed and kind of "shocky" for lack of a better word. They're both haunted and are stuck reliving it from both their own and the other's point of views.

Review of chapter "Aftershocks" from LiseAnn
I liked this. It was strongly written and well thought out. And both their arguments/acceptances of what happened stay true to what could be seen in their, especially Xander's characters. Well done.

Review of chapter "Aftershocks" from CPTSkip
Nice horror story for Halloween. I think the characters reactions to their horrid acts rings true. I don't like your story, but I also think you did a good job with writing it.
Comments from author:
Honestly, I don't like the story either. I originally wrote it as two separate pieces and combined into one for sake of ease on this site. When I wrote the first chapter, I didn't know WTH I was doing or even why I was writing it. The reaction was fiercely divided. A lot of people hated it because they saw its potential for actually occurring. Surprisingly, it was those same people who wanted a second part, one from Buffy's point-of-view. It took me a long time to write, because I didn't want to resolve anything, because I don't know it could have been resolved. It was a completely weird experience writing it, but at the same time, I'm somewhat proud of the result.

Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment!
