Oh my, this is wonderful! It has so much potential!
Does Buffy keep Harry's magic? Does Lash stick around? Even if Buffy doesn't keep Harry's magic can she teach Willow? Does Harry take care of Ethan or does Giles do his Ripper? Does Spike get dusted?
It is truly too bad you haven't continued this!

Neither this nor Tarnished Silver is dead, however they're both on the back burner. I've been putting most of my effort into the novel I'm working on lately. I'll probably come back to both of these, as well as the other fics here, this summer when their respective books and shows start back up.

and the first HD novel didn't come out until around 2000 I think, else Willow would recognize the name (unless this is an AU where they don't get published?). Which raises the question of, 'what costume did Buffy THINK she was wearing? Maybe Ethan is a future-fan? heh. Harry could be useful in this 'episode' at least he's not as useless as the episode's Buffy. Even more frightening, how much of Harry will be left after the spell is broken? That knowledge could change things quite a bit. Of course, most of what he knows about magic is wrong in this world but what the heck.

There are a ton of timeline issues that I realized while I was writing with it. I've got a way to deal with it that wont actually make any sense, much to Buffy's later confusion.

Interesting story. Of course, it rings a bell. I can't wait to see Harry's reaction when he finally realizes just who it is that disguised as Harry Dresden for Halloween. It should be hilarious.
I really enjoyed Harry's dazed yet down to earth way of dealing with the situation, and I'm really curious as to where you'll be taking this story from here. Certainly a different take on the YAHF type story. Also, really like that it was Buffy who wore the Dresden costume and not Xander, 'cause it's almost always Xander who gets put in this kind of role so much it's become a cliche, and one I am profoundly sick of.
